I bought this thinking it could work on my new Ipod generation 5, but it didnt. The newest ipod comes with built in speakers, so i had no use for it. In addition, the socket for the audio is on the other side. I sold it to a friend who has a Nano generation 4. She loves it, uses it every night

this thing does what it says it does. i like it for its portability.i had a case that i used to protect my ipod and after i got the speaker i no longer use the old case and just carry this even when using the head phones.i use a jaber Bluetooth charger that plugs in to the wall instead of the usb charger and the complaints about the the headphones plunging in thru the case are unfounded i use shure headphones with a big plug and yes it is tight to get it in but not impossible i never take my ipod out of the case even to charge it. the sound is another story it is not that great but for the portability it is do able and i like my music to sound good so i have a real nice dock that i use at home but for on the go this will due fine and the price was right. also leave the plastic cover on it will protect your ipod even more.

I would recommend this to anyone with a 4G Nano looking for a simple speaker - it works great. The only thing that is a little quirky is the headphone connection. Sometimes you have to push or wiggle or spin the headphone jack to make the right connection. It's lightweight and works exactly as described. The only thing that took a while to figure out was the little "push" piece of plastic on the lower left corner... turns out, it's how to unhook that top part of the case when you want to get the Nano out... maybe it was obvious to others, but it took me a while to stumble upon that. Bottomline - I spent a year looking for this, and finally found it. Love it.

If you are an audiophile looking for theatre quality surround sound from you portable speakers this is NOT the product for you. If you just want to be able to listen to your iPod without the earbuds you couldn't do better for the price. The light, slim unit attached to my Nano with such ease I couldn't believe I did it correctly and it worked first time/every time. No, the quality of sound is NOT great, but the portability and ease of use more than makes up for it IMO. Perfect for travel, picnics, working in the shop, etc... It has it's own usb charger, so I just charge both iPod and speakers at the same time. It has never run out of juice before the Nano. You won't do better for the price.

I took this on a trip and we were able to enjoy my music from my ipod. It was pretty loud too, which made things better. I even turned it on in a truck while on the freeway with the windows down and we were still able to listen to the music. Great little gadget!

great concept, but it said it was compatible with the 8G which is incorrect. The antenna connection is on the wrong side, so it goes in backwards. Even if you put it in backwards the speakers are grainy sounding and weak.

This iPod portable speaker puts out awesome sound and allows you to take it from room to room. The sound amplifies and does not distort if to loud. Unfortunately I have an 8gb nano so I had to rig it so it would work for mine but if you have the nano 4gb you will love it!

I could not decide between these small portable, attachable speakers, and a larger boom-box style docking station for my Nano. I am very happy with my decision to purchase these smaller, attachable speakers. I bought them to use while doing Pilates (not exactly an earbud-friendly exercise), and to take with me on vacation. The sound quality is good, the volume will fill a small room, and I love the protective case for my Nano. I also love the fact that it doesn't require batteries like some of the other brands I reviewed before making my purchase. I would definitely recommend this product.

Probably one of the best investments I've made for my iPod. The speakers work great if you just want a tune in your office (I actually have to turn it down a bit). It sounds good over low to moderate noise so if you want it for when you're mowing your lawn, you should just stick to headphones. It doesn't have deep bass, but it's there and it sounds clear and crisp. Just play with the EQ. Charge lasts a workday and recharges pretty fast. You don't even have to have the speakers flipped open to hear the tunes. Awesome little thing.

Great value. Volume is high enough to hear. Stays attached to ipod so you don't have to take it off. Plug for headphones is left uncovered. Great purchase, better than expected.

In spite of the review but upon receiving it, I thought it would be impossible to receive the sound that others who had purchased it had received. What a surprise. Instead of having ear plugs in my ears when I am out at the park or even in my office, it is so easy to use this unit.

I am quite impressed with these little speakers! Its a great device if you dont have a docking station available and it is also very compact and portable! Great sound for its size.

I was pretty much blown away by the sound these little speakers produce. Its perfect for my job so I can listen to my music right there at my desk. I really recommend this product.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to work this, but it is a great little product. The volume from the speakers is not super loud...but loud enough - high enough volume to be able to listen with a friend when hanging out, when traveling or at the beach (but not so loud as to disturb the entire beach or the neighboring hotel room). It also works well to turn on the speaker and rest it in the driver's seat, if you've got an older car whose stereo system is not ipod /ipod nano compatible.

I bought this portable speaker because I was getting ready for a trip and I didn't want to take any of the cumbersome or larger speakers that I saw. I wasn't sure about this product because I could only find it on Overstock. WOW! The sound was phenomenal for such a little speaker. It easily attached to the iPod. I used the speakers every morning . Once during a meal with about 40 other people, I was able to provide the music for the evening meal and they were amazed at the quality of sound I was getting from such a small speaker. I was able to use my earbuds without having to dismantle the speakers. That was great since I didn't have to worry about misplacing the speakers when I wanted to listen privately to my music. I was able to use my portable iPod charger to charge both the speakers and the iPod. The only downside was that I had to charge them separately. I only had to charge it once while I was on vacation. Great product!

I purchased this because there were times I wanted to listen to music softly or without earphones. Mission accomplished.( I have an iHome clock radio that only turns down so much and sometimes is just not soft enough when you want to lay down and relax. )The sound quality is good for it's size and the fact that it comes with a usb charging cord is great. It's a great protective case too. ( Price the cases individually and you'll find that they cost about 10.00 by themselves.) Only one drawback, when the speakers are attached you can only use the earphones and charger that came with the iPod. I can not dock it on the iHome radio, use headphones or use my car/cassette converter because the plugs are just a tad too big to fit within the plastic casing. I still LOVE IT!

I purchased this item for my son's 11th birthday as opposed to a stationary dock. It is absolutely great, the sound quality is better than expected and it is a quality product. He is able to take it everywhere and share his music with his friends. With just a flip it is perfect for personal listening all while protecting his iPod. I would recommend purchasing a sleeve to further protect the screen and dial.

Why I give this product a five star rating? Because it does precisely what it should. It's small, lightweight and plays music from my Nano. I have had portable speakers for my older ipod models for ages and hated them for having to carry them around big set of speakers. With these speakers, I do not have to spend money on buying AAA or AA batteries. This is a portable with small speakers, so the sound's predictably a little tinny, but for their size, and more importantly, the price, they're amazing.

Great Value for small personal speakers. Super easy to use and I while I put mine in a shirt or pants pocket to listen to while I'm on the move around the house I also have discovered that this works better than a transmitter for the car because you don't have to find a FM station that will fade in and out.However... keep in mind that in the car if you crank up the volume it gets a bit tinny, other problem is that this works best for local rather than HWY driving because HWY or even A/C will drown out most of the sound. But really if you hate being wired and things plugging up your ears then these are great. I just wish they had a volume control rather than have to adjust thru the ipod. That being said yes I am happy with my purchase and I am glad I bought these. I Do Recommend that you go ahead and buy these if you are looking for something inexpensive for personal listening.
