I was so excited about getting this clock. I could not wait. However now that I have it I am not thrilled with it. The concept is great, but the design is flawed. The nigt light flashes four colors, you can't choose a color it just keeps changing. You turn that feature off and you are unable to see what time it is. So you have to say "Hello Moshi" Time. Well, that wakes up your spouse! Also, in order to set the clock you have to do it manually. When you set the alarm it doesn not respond with the same time you gave. Might be my accent, I am not sure. I placed batteries in it but when I accidentally unplug the clock, it should keep the time, but it resets itself and you have to start all over again.
This is a very cool clock. Even though I am giving it 4 stars, I am not recommending you get the clock for 2 reasons. It does not light up unless you give it a command. And you have to be a couple of feet in front of the clock for it to recognize your commands. However, if you can't read a regular clock, this is the one for you.
I purchased this clock for my mother who is blind. The voice commands are very difficult to use. If there is a hint of noise around the clock will not understand you. If you dont use perfect diction it will program the wrong time. It is annoying that you must set the clock each day even if you get up at the same time each day. The date and days of the week must be set manually as there is no voice commands for them. The night light started going out shortly after the warranty was over. ( Go figure). When the clock cooperates it works very nicely. The makers of moshi need to fix some of the deficiencies.
I purchased this clock as a gift for my 23 year old college student. HE ABOSULTELY LOVESSSS IT.the 9 minute snooze feature is just enough time that he won't fall back into a deep sleep. NICE NICE NICE
serves my purpose in night as i dont have to open my eyes to see the time i listen the time
I have Moshi, and she is very, very annoying! Everything I have read in the other reviews is correct aside from having to set time manually. She will set the time, to whatever she thinks you said... Also, I have returned the clock for another unit, and that isn't the fix. Appears the flaws weren't isolated to the first Moshi I brought home.If you are looking for a clock that usually will do something other than what you are wanting, then this is the clock for you. And if you want a clock that wakes everyone in the house up, since you can't shut the alarm off, then again, this is the one for you!
The night lite rotates between four different colors which is annoying. i just keep the night light off, but then i can't see the time display in the dark. Also, once the alarm beeps, you cannot turn it off. it will come back and beep in 9 minute intervals two more times. Maybe mine isn't working properly, but this is annoying.
This is a unique alarm clock, my husband loved it. You talk to it and it talks to you to set it, check time, check temp., put on nite lite, ect... One complaint that we have is that you have to speak loud - I believe that the description said to speak in a normal voice but that is not accurate. The second problem is that it misinterprets the commands sometimes and when this happens it makes you reset the alarm. But overall this is a cool clock and I wouldn't say we were unhappy with it.
