I'm tired of trying to read directions while trying to drive, so I thought I would give this a whirl. I didn't want to rely on written directions, so I didn't take any with me on a recent trip of over 1,200 miles round trip. I took it out of the box, charged the battery, figured out how to enter my destination, and then took off. Easy, easy easy. I like the fact that you can get information on what is located at upcoming exits for gas, food, etc., and if you take a wrong turn, it will recalculate your route. I made a few wrong turns on purpose before I got too far from home just to see what it would do, and it kept trying to get me back on track. I also like the fact that it gives you warnings beginning 2 miles in advance so you know what you will need to do. It starts out at 2 miles, then warns again at 1 mile, 1/2 mile and 2/10 of a mile. Plenty of warning. I haven't figured out EVERYTHING about it -- to do that, I would probably have to read the instructions, which I haven't done yet. Overall, I think I made a very good purchase; and I know I'll be using it much more in the future. I received the item in very good time after ordering it, too.

I love this thing! The screen is a perfect size when (suction-cup mounted with swivel arm) just below the rear view mirror. Non-obstructive, very user friendly, comes with carrying case (small), mounting kit, AAA update disc, charger. Can't beat the price, nor expedient delivery. The best part? IT'S PORTABLE AND ITS YOURS...I take it everywhere, and unlike auto GPS, when you give the car back, so goes the GPS.

I FOUND THIS UNIT VERY USER FRIENDLY. IT WAS EXTEMELY EASY FOR A FIRST TIME USER OF GPS SYSTEMS. I LIKE THE POINTS OF INTRESTS THAT ARE IN THIS UNIT. IT IS VERY HELPFUL WHEN TRAVELING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS UNIT TO ANYONE

I was excited to get this product in and try it in a neighboring city that I plan on moving to. I have many friends there so I visit often. Well, I was headed to one of my friends house when my Maestro go the directions mixed up. And by mixed up I mean THE ROAD WASN'T MAPPED! This was a major road off the highway I was on. Luckily I knew where I was and didn't follow the directions. I find this happens a lot. I understand maps get updated and therefore I need to update my system. However, it shouldn't be the case if I JUST bought it. I have also noticed it gives you different directions depending on your location. For example, if I was standing at my front door and wanted to go to the market, I enter in the address and it gives me directions. If I was to pull out of my driveway and travel maybe .5 miles, it will give you a set of TOTALLY different directions, not relating to the ones before. Another annoying problem I face sometimes is when the operating system tells me to take a left, when the path on the map goes right. I found this out the hard way! For the amount I paid it shouldn't be giving me these problems. I regret buying this.

This GPS is very easy. We just plugged it in and used it right away.

So far I haven't used it for any major trips, but it has been easy to use without any directions on how to use it. The system seems to stick to major roads which is not a problem and some of the points of interest are a little out dated. The battery power does not las long, but everything else seems excellent; much better than online directions.

I use this unit almost every day, and it has worked very well for me. It even figures out shortcuts to avoid slower roads with a lot of traffic lights. When you charge the unit and use it without plugging it in, the charge doesn't last that long, but otherwise no problems at all. I very happy with it.

This was a gift for my son who love it. He find it easy to used and he never get lost when he travels. I would recommend this GPS system to people who do alot of traveling and need help in finding places.

After useing the 4000 for a month I am still impressed with the accuracy of the calculations. Four to six hour trips and i am with in 10 mins. of the estimated arrival. On the down side, any change in the route ( food fuel etc.) of 10 feet results in the constant ' recalculating route". Routes appear to be up to date and accurate, however some of the POI's are stale or missing.

We have a gps system in our 07 toyota avalon. I wish it was as easy to use as this unit. Have used this unit for about three weeks now and can not find anything not to like about the system. I haven't even read the directions, the system is so easy to use directions are not needed. The unit arrived exactly as advertised matter of fact I was surprised at how quickly the unit did arrive. If you are looking for a GPS system this is the one to buy.

I bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. Easy to use, easy to understand and program. I have already recommended it to a few people.

i used the gps for a while now,its ok ,but has a few flaws in it.wish it would update automatically more often.meaning if you have a new street or something is wrong like an address which is located on the left and the gps is saying "destination on the right", that should be updated when you reported to your gps company.there are more minor flaws but other than that its good to have for basic traveling.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas and gave it to them early because they drive across country during the holidays and I thought this would be handy for them. They really love it. It's simple to use and has some appealing features, like the AAA guidebook and the larger screen size. We personally own a garmin550 and love it, these GPS systems are just great and for this price point this is a good value. Recommend this to anyone.

The map angle viewing is very limited.but the screen size is great. If a wrong turn is made the only recourse offered is to make a legal U turn or continue driving a few more blocks while system recharts the trip. This makes for a lot of travel time wasted. Overall it is a decent system but I wish I had compared it to other brands before purchasing.

My drivers are saving time and money with the Magellan Maestro, It is easy to use and makes their job much more efficient

Not too much traveling with it yet. Easy to use and looking foward to the next trip. I love that the manual is on a CD instead of printed on a tree. Good product.
