RF flash trigger systems are usually much more expensive than this one, so it's a great value. I think this item's best use is for someone who wants to try RF flash triggering but can't afford the professional-level models.
The main drawback to this particular model is the speed at which it can trigger the flash unit(s). The friend I bought this for found that if snapping pictures at full camera speed, this item triggered a flash only every other shutter press. He is using a digital SLR that's several years old now; I think newer cameras have the ability to take pictures at an even faster rate, so this drawback could really slow you down or trip you up if you don't keep it in mind.
One last thing: I bought two of these, and the pre-installed specialty battery in the transmitter of one was completely dead on arrival. If you order this item and it doesn't work, try changing the transmitter's battery before you conclude that it's broken. (The battery on the second one worked fine out of the box.)
