It is not a backpack, but rather a laptop soft briefcase. In order to get my 15.4 laptop to fit I had to leave out the compartment separator and store my power cord in the exterior pocket of which there's plenty of room. A 15.4 computer will take up all the space with about 1/2" on each side which is not enough room for the power cord/brick. Also, the strap that holds the computer in place will be off-centered on a 15.4" laptop as this bag is really made for a laptop no larger than 14". Although, I am very satisfied with the bang for the buck and the bag suits my needs for my 15.4" laptop, if I had to do it over again I would order the 17" version of this bag which has just the correct amount of room for a 15.4" laptop and the power cord/brick in the interior compartment. I deducted a star as Overstock's description was not adequate to make an informed decision.
