I decided to buy a refurbished model to save a little on the cost of the Logitech Alert 750e Master System. The camera arrived in perfect condition and appeared to have been packaged with great care. Installation was really as easy as mounting the camera and running the thin cat5 internet cable to a convenient outside outlet. Once the companion power module was plugged in and connected to my router, the software found the camera and configured it. The system has been working flawlessly for over a month and with its automatic email alerts and smart phone app, I get a good sense of security for my vacation home. I am looking to add a second camera to the system and would definitely consider a refurbished unit again.

This is the second system I bought. One at the office is great. Buy new! This refurb unit was not tested before it was sealed up and shipped to me. These things are as simple to test as a toaster. The folks doing the refurb shold be moved to the gift wrapping section. Thanks for wasting a week. Now I need to start over again.

The camera stopped filming in color almost immediately after installation. It may have worked properly for one day, but for the last 3 weeks it has been a constant battle with Logitech tech support to get the camera to stop shutting off the color mode and filiming black/white. A quick search on the internet will show that I am not the only person with this issue. Do not buy this if you care about quality.

Overstock.com is selling the 700e as the 750e. Beware of that when you order this refurbished camera. You will get the 700e...that being said, there is virtually no difference between the two cameras. The resolution is good, the nightvision works well even in pitch black, and I really like the wide angle. Logitech's software is really easy to use, and the alert.logitech.com site is a nice addition to the package, however there is no need to pay for the mobile commander, just load free logmein.com software on your home computer and you will have most of the controls that they would have you pay for. For an outdoor home system you can't go wrong with this camera.

Very quick and easy to set up the first one they sent didn't have the software but overstock made it right. I know have piece of mind when I'm away from home.

I don't consider myself to be very technically savy, so easy for me is easy for most. This couldn't have been easier to install. Simply place included cd in cd drive of home computer where you want to view image. It will load itself and walk you through the very few steps to get up and running. Just plug one device into power and router with included ethernet cable. Plug camera into power outlet and mount and aim camera. I tested it out of the box (without first actually mounting the camera to be sure it would work) and had it working in about 5 to 10 minutes. Amazingly simple. I also downloaded an app to my smart phone (android) and was able to see the camera view from my phone as well. Very cool!
