I moved offices recently and needed a wireless bridge to avoid having to string an ethernet cable across the room from the wireless internet router to my computer. This is marketed as an entertainment link, not a productivity tool. In fact, I had more than one IT professional insist that I needed a multi-hundreds of dollars solution. This has been working very well, with no apparent degradation of internet speed or features. And, of course, OS had the very best price anywhere.
This is a piece of garbage i suspect it was returned and resold as when taken out of box had some scratches that looked like wear and tear .... not shipping damage very unhappy not worth return fee
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? except that it has not worked from day one
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? NO NO NO
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. worked for about an hour and then overheats and repeatedly shuts off
I bought this to replace a 802.11g bridge I use to connect the dvr to the network. It's not any faster, maybe slower. Not sure if that has to do with the bridge or the new access point. works fine, just not at 802.11n speeds I expected.

Excellent quality. I have installed 5-6 of these devices in order to connect a remote device with Ethernet only to my wireless networks in various houses. The install CD works great as long as you follow the directions. I wish it had a mounting hardware. It's designed to just site on a shelf or table. I've used this to connect a solar inverter to the Internet. Here's an example website http://***

Just got this and thought it would be easy as pie. While the instructions were simple and my wireless showed a connection, DVR refused to connect it. Began return process same day as I got it. Really bummed. I'd tell others to at least try as it's much less expensive than the connectors my satellite provider charges and Overstock is easy to return.
The Linksys WET610N Wireless N Ethernet Bridge was very easy to set up and works very well. I used this wireless bridge to wirelessly connect my DirecTV HD DVR to my Netgear WGR614v7 wireless G router. The DirecTV HD DVR "network set-up" easily guided me through the steps to get the Linksys wireless bridge connected (there was no need to format the bridge on a computer). The hardest part was inputing the my wireless network password into the HD DVR (you have to repeatedly hit the remote buttons to cycle through the upper and lower case letters you want), which was no big deal. The Linksys bridge downloaded the DirecTV content flawlessly. I am very happy with this product.
My router is in the basement of my house and I needed to receive a signal on the second floor at the other end of the house. I assumed that I would have to at least run SOME wires to get the bridge close enough to the router to receive a signal. On a hunch, I simply hooked it up as is and tested it. The thing worked great and I've had no problems since. Didn't need to run the wires afterall. Can't complain. If I had a need to buy another one, I would.
Plugged up, gives connection where USB network device did not. Worked flawlessly so far, 3 weeks.
I had a few problems getting the instructional video to load but was very impressed by the technical support. They just offered to help get everyting hooked up as long as I was on the line, regardless of the video problem, and took me step by step on the installation process till everything was done.
I bought this to use with my new Mitsubishi TV. It was simple to set up and worked perfectly.
Wireless bridge devices are not common in the consumer market, as they are only used in specialized situations. For what this product was intended to do (connect a wired-Ethernet Blu-Ray player to the Internet via a wireless network), it does it well. The setup is very quick if you are using a Linksys wireless Access Point as your primary means of wireless network connectivity. I suspect that connecting the bridge to an alternate brand of wireless access point shouldn't pose too much of a challenge for someone with a little wireless experience. However, I would recommend trying to keep the brands consistent in order to lessen the chance of connectivity issues. Overall, it is a fine product that does what it is expected to do. The range is fine, and the speed is great in testing long streaming Netflix movies without any video or sound issues.
I live out in a little bubble area where there is wired broadband about a mile from me and then again about a mile past me so I have to rely on my Android 3G network for high speed. The setup of this was not smooth, as I had to run through the setup a few times before everything was recognized. I am not sure if that was related to the fact that I was setting this up with my Netgear WNR3500 router that is on a different network from the WiFi hot-spot that I eventually needed to connect to. Eventually the bridge identified my router and then was able to see my wifi hot spot on another network and I got this working. Once I plugged it into my Dish Network VIP 622 receiver it automatically assigned an IP and I was able to finally connect my Dish Receiver to the internet. I would recommend this to someone that wants to convert a wired device to wireless.
Just what we needed! Fast shipping, works as described, makes life much easier....less cords!
THE BRIDGE TO NETFLIX!! AWESOME PRODUCT, WORKS VERY WELL.
have used linksys products before so expected it to be good. Decent range
I received the next day so shipping was great and free. Price was the best I had found. The unit works great with my DVD playerand with CD that is included really easy to install.
Set-up was straightforward. It took a few minutes to discover my network and configure itself. Have a PC and access to your router handy, as this is needed to configure it using the provided CD and instructions. I'm using it for Directv on-demand. Works fine.
Connects any device that has an Ethernet connection, but is not wireless, to a wireless network -- is incredibly easy to set up -- works flawlessly. Could not recommend this bridge more highly.
