I was checking out new notebooks and realized that I could get this like new refurbished laptop for the same price, and it had more capabilities. About all I had to do was to uninstall the search engine that was in the laptop and install my own preference, and then install a security package. I also added another gig of memory to improve it's speed. Everything, including the computer, added up to less than $500 and I couldn't be happier.

Laptop fired up and ran right out of the box had to run windows update to update the OS and it didnt come with any instructions but it wasnt to hard to figure out . I got it for my wife and she loves it.

Love the thinkpad. Probably one of the biggest bargains in laptops I have ever seen. Above average performance. Battery life leaves something to be desired.

Although it shipped with XP, I put Debian Linux on this machine. It runs really well. I'm sure it would have with XP also.

I was concerned about buying a used laptop online but found the process went really well. I received the laptop in a couple of days, it booted right up, and has worked flawlessly.I would recommend this ThinkPad to anyone that wants a smaller, light weight, and very fast laptop.

This was delivered in a timely manner. It is OK. Everything works. Problem is... they give you software, and the windows on the laptop are the wrong version, and it won't let you install them. So, are you really saving anything, when you have to go out and buy the software? Not sure if this was a good buy.

Better than new ... Laptop in excellent condition with Windows XP and security software installed. Bought it for my Mom and it's just as nice as my brand new Lenova (which didn't come pre-loaded with software). Highly recommend.

Excellent performance of the laptop from the get go. Although laptop is user friendly, disappointed that it did not come with a Users' Guide or Owner's Manual. Pursued getting a Users' Guide on the web, only to discover that this unit apparently does not come with one; hmmm. Otherwise, very happy with the unit.

I enjoy my (refurbished) ThinkPad, so much, that the first day I received it I was on it nearly 24 hours. I didn't expect the quality I received. It had everything I needed including wireless internet. The price was affordable and well worth it. Although, I did make one HUGE mistake. I hit the IBM button (oops!), which will do a recovery, and found out that you will loose everything and I do mean everything on your computer and there is not a disk available. And being refurbished you will have to call a toll free number for service that may charge for every incident you need help repairing. So, for all you first time buyers please read the instructions before tinkering with your Thinkpad, or this could happen to you too and you could spend tireless hours trying to rectify the problem. This was the first time I've ordered from Overstock and I must say the delivery time was excellent, I was able to track the package until it arrived. Since, buying my Lenovo, I've already purchased another item from Overstock and again I was able to track the package, and received it in a timely manner. I would recommend this Lenovo to anyone who is looking to buy a reasonable affordable laptop. I think you will enjoy it as much as me! (just don't make the same mistake I did!)

This laptop has everything we wanted. I bought it for my son, since he takes internet classes and without a laptop it's almost impossible. I didn't want to spent a lot of money, and I did not want Windows Vista that comes with all brand new laptops. Now if you want Windows XP loaded on a new computer, it costs you $100 more. Set up was easy, even though there was no manual since it is a refurbished model. But we were guided by on-screen menu, and it was a breeze. This laptop has fingerprint recognition as an option for password, my son loved that. It is completely web-ready, fast and light. Totally great buy for the money we paid.
