Overall I am satisfied. Have had this a few days now and it is a good laptop at a fair price. The shipping all the way to the UK was reasonable, quick and well tracked. Buyers should note, however, that though refurbished quite well, these feel like thoroughly used laptops. The wear round the casing and on the track pad gave the impression that this had been in full service for some time before I got it. The screen hinges, for a similar reason, are not as tight as you might expect. However, it looks like a new(ish) keyboard and these machines are built to last. Main disappointment was the battery life. I had to buy a new battery. I'm planning to contact customer services about this - we'll see what they say! That's what bumped my rating from good to average.

Received laptop in excellent condition. As other reviewers have noted, I had a hard time seeing that it was refurbished. Very clean and no signs of wear-and-tear. Came with a set-up instruction sheet from the refurbisher, and I was up and running in 5 minutes. This is my first refurbished laptop purchase and I would do it again, I would look to get a model from the company that refurbished this purchase. Though described as a laptop, this is a very slim and light laptop that feels almost like a notebook. Keyboard has good feel. It is powerful enough for my purposes (Internet and home productivity application like MS Word, Excel, etc.). Windows 7 Professional is very stable and well behaved on this model. My only negative note is the screen. I must be viewed directly from front. Once your viewing angle changes a bit, it dims and becomes difficult to see. My previous Lenovo did not do this (but in fairness that was a much more expensive model). Once you get accustomed to working with this and adjust the screen to the correct angle, there is no problem. The screen is bright and very viewable when viewed from directly in front of it. For my money, this is a quality, trouble-free item that is a great value at this price point.
Lightweight (not the size of a tablet but half the physical size of most laptops out there) and powerful. This Lenovo ThinkPad is one of the few 14" screen laptops that has an internal CD/DVD drive, essential for burning programs or ripping CDs. I was astonished to learn it was refurbished - the keyboard and screen had no signs of wear, and the overall condition of the computer looked as if it were brand new. Three USB ports strategically are strategically located as well. I bought this for under $XXX and it is quite rare to find this machine at that price. Another good thing is that I was directed to a local computer company if I had any questions or problems about the laptop, as opposed to contacting Overstock.com; the computer company would be in a better position to help if I had an issue with the hardware. Excellent product, fantastic value, and size-wise it's a great laptop to take when I travel on business, which is frequent.
I was hesitant to buy a refurb. But I am a college student on a budget, and I have always wanted a ThinkPad so I figured I would spring for it. The computer arrived in great shape! There is a little bit of wear on the keys from use (i.e. they are a little shinier than they probably once were), but even this was hard to tell without a discerning eye. The keyboard itself is amazing. I have heard how ThinkPad keyboards are a wonderful typing experience, but I had never really experienced it for myself. So, other than the keys, the computer looked essentially new. Everything went fine with the Windows install. I will say that it was advertised as having Windows 7 Pro, but it had Windows 7 HP whenever I received it. Not sure what happened there, but either way it really doesn't make that much of a difference to me since I will most likely not be using the computer for work. I also plan on dual booting Windows and Debian on this system (haven't done it yet though) so I'm not too concerned with the Windows release.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? It was pretty much identical.
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yes it was, to my knowledge.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I have worked with Apples and other PC's. Compare to other PC's I have worked with it is much better! Compared with and Apple computer, for my uses at least, it is on par.
One of the buttons didn't work, the operating system froze when I first loaded it, the finger print reader wad dirty. These are used pieces of garbage. I suppose if you get lucky, great, but overstock is not really representing these accurately. Refurbished implies a machine with new parts upgraded to work like a new product. This is a used product that someone cleaned. In my case it was just garbage and I got what I payed for.
I ordered a computer that said 250 gb's of memory, what i got was a computer with 143gbs of memory. If you account for 10 gbs for microsoft windows 7 that is 100gb's of memory missing. Is this a joke Overstock? Can I get $* of my dollars back?
This is a great little laptop; I needed it for a trip to Bangkok, Thailand where I am at this very moment. I was lucky enough to have my grandson visiting us at the time. He found it for me and he has the same brand but a different model. He's a computer genius and is working in programming and got the one intern job out of 500 applicants so I felt blessed to have him help me choose a laptop. I use a mouse with it. I haven't used the DVD yet. Unfortunately I needed it in a hurry and didn't realize that Overstock.com was shipping it UPS Ground to Hawaii. It took about 10-11 days and I was leaving the very next day. Had I known that I would have paid for expedited shipping. I expected dents and scratches etc.but you could never tell this was a refurbished model. I love it! I would definitely recommend it to a friend....

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I am very pleased with it! I could have had a touch screen for less but I wanted Windows 7 instead.
