SINCE I AM IN BUSINESS FOR MYSELF AND HAVE BEEN FOR ALMOST 26 YEARS, I FINALLY HAD THE NEED TO PURCHASE A LAPTOP AND ALL THAT I READ ON THIS PARTICULAR ONE WAS PERFECT FOR MY ONGOING NEEDS. I WAS ALSO HAPPY TO FIND AN EXCELLENT REPORT ON THE LENOVO LAPTOPS...RATING OVER AND ABOVE MOST OTHERS. I RECENTLY UPGRADED THE RAM FROM 4GB TO 16GB...WHICH MADE THIS LAPTOP EVEN BETTER

Bought one of these a couple years ago, the refurb seemed as expected, all-working - no issues. Windows XP Pro, Display is crisp but just barely large enough to do graphics & photo work. I also have a laptop with a 17" screen but I tend to use this little one more coz it's so light & portable. The only problem I had at purchase is one of the keys was illegible (rubbed off) so even tho I am a touch-typist i want all keys with ID, so I bought a replacement key online for $1.50. Other than that i'm still using it as my travel and aux unit and quite satisfied ... although I DO wish it had a larger hard-drive - nowadays 80Gb doesn't go too far!...I bought a usb drive but burned it up pretty fast. Oh and the battery went bad right away so I just plug in - not that big of deal for me I rarely rely on a laptop battery too risky...This laptop is Small enough to take trippin, & powerful enough to actually get work done on the road. Happy. Would repeat.

  • WARNING! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BFORE TURNING IT ON

Having purchased a laptop from Overstock I assumed all I had do was turn it on, BUT I ignored the paper stuck over the keyboard giving special insrtuctions on booting up for the first time. Why they couldn't have performed these steps before they shipped it out I can only assume was to save fifty cents or so. the are going to send me a disk that will hopefully fix it. Another week without a computer. I think I may try ebay next time.

It runs hot - very hot! Battery life is very short so I ordered a new battery- no better! When the battery is low the computer cuts off suddenly with no warning. It will seem that you still have 1/3 battery left per the icon, then seconds latter the computer suddenly turns off! So in effect it means you must keep it plugged up all the time because its hard to judge how much battery time you really have left.

  • Well below "refurb"

Arrived dirty. the front bezel around the LCD is cracked in 2 places and the bottom portion is bowed out. Noticeable color fading on latch button (half of it is black while the other side is still silver). It is wrapped in some sticker which I am guessing to hide noticeable fading due to oily palms. I do not want to remove just because I am afraid what it looks like. I have purchased numerous refurbed laptops in the past and this is by far the worst of the lot. Thank god I purchased the extra warranty because this will be going back asap. O, do you even spot check these orders? This looks like my 14 yr old nephew wanna be techie worked on this. I guess I cannot complain too much as because of the price. Lesson learned. You get what you paid for.
