the only thing I am not happy with, is the battery isn't keeping it's charge, so I am getting a message that I should replace battery soon, I just assume under your refurbished . The battery would have been tested.

The refurbished computer was very good, however, the charger system failed almost immediately and a replacement required purchase to put the computer to use.

My husband's last laptop is about 7 years old and it gave up the ghost. This one is so fast and he loves it! Case was pretty scratched up but was a lovely blue color. The first one shipped had a damaged pixelation on the screen and was a bigger screen, this one is much smaller on the screen but seems to be working fine with no damage.

Was very excited to get my new computer. Only problem is the battery only holds a charge for about 5 minutes. I called and was told new battery's would be in soon. They would send a USED one if I wanted. I said I would wait for a new one. Still waiting Only suggestion is to put a NEW battery in all products before they are sent out.

This is my second refurbished dell from Overstock and over all I am pleased with the purchase. It does have a bug and it shuts down a lot and reboots right away, but I think it can be fixed with a windows update. It also gets pretty hot when used. But overall a good deal.

I have a E6410 from work and this E6400 is just as great. It came without any noticable blemishes on the case or screen. I was happy to get a unit with the extended battery that seems to be in great condition. There is no rediculious bloatware which is great! All I did was run the Windows update (100+) and I also went to dell's web site and downloaded the latest drivers. I'm very happy with the laptop and would recomend it.

As a retiree who travels I wanted a laptop to run Quicken, Web Browser, M/S Office, etc. My desktop at home (which also acts as a server for various devices) is Windows 7 and I did not want to flip flop between 2 OSs with different interfaces. When working we used Dell laptops on a 3 year lease schedule without problems, so I was looking for a Dell Windows 7 laptop. This machine looks almost new and cam loaded only with the Windows 7 (No "crapware"). Specialized drivers were preloaded so all I had to do was run Windows Update, load software, copy some files (via Windows SyncToy) and was ready to go. The only problem was one pre-loaded Dell wireless driver glitch for which I had to find and run a repair.

The product itself is probably not bad but XXXXXXX who sent me the refurbished product, shipped it WITHOUT a WiFi card in it - contrary to promotion. The OS also was not activated. I was talked through activating the Windows 7. Crude doesn't begin to describe the state of the missing WiFi card sent - a masking tape was used to hold it together and it was missing screw(s) to keep it in place. I couldn't get the antenna wires in place and the signal was very weak. Frustrating experience. I ordered this product from Overstock on Dec. 30, 2013 and finally secured Return Authorization Jan. 30. Note, my bad experience is something that quality care on the part of XXXXXXX agents could easily have taken care of.

Works as it should. It is refurbished. And everything seems to be working. But the "fur" part or refurbish was completely true. There were cat hairs in between the keys and stuck in ports. Used my strongest vacuum. Still concerned about cooling, but seems ok and no smell. My wife is allergic, so noticed it first.

Didn't come with video card and has a small hard drive so can't give it 5 stars but it is a very good laptop for the price. Can't go wrong for everyday computing with this corporate model laptop.

My overall review is that there needs to be more close attention payed to the functionality of the products before being sold to the consumer, considering the fact that they are refurbished and not brand new

I purchased this refurbished model for my teenage son to use for his schoolwork, games, etc. The price was good and we have experienced no issues with it being a refurbished model.

This laptop came quickly and with no problems. It is a very basic machine but does have Windows 7 pro which is nice. The touch pad does not always pick up the movement of my finger which makes moving the cursor a little more of a challenge than it should be. Otherwise, it is a very handy tool to take along for meetings and conferences.

I ordered this knowing I wasn't getting anything high end, I just wanted a second laptop to have around for surfing the web and checking email. This is good for that but was not without problems. First, this was originally a VISTA operating system that had WINDOWS 7 installed. There were a few glitches because of that and a few settings had to be changed. I also had to change one BIOS setting to prevent the machine from ever hybernating and/or moving to the secondary battery source (as a busness machine it comes with this option but I only use one battery). Also, the power cord was faulty and I only discovered this when the battery refused to charge, I used the cord from an old HP laptop I has laying around and everything worked fine. So boo for that waste of money. From the same old HP laptop I had laying around I pulled out some RAM and installed it in this one (it comes with 2 gigs but that isn't really enough for WIN 7) so things work pretty well now. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they knew a bit about computers and felt comfortable messing around with it. For me it was a project,I liked the basic form and was ok with cannabalizing my brokend down machines to get this one up to par. It's my daily mess-around laptop now and I won't be installing too much beyond what I need to use google, fb, email, etc.

This laptop new is about $1000, so I feel bad complaining since I only got it for $350. It's definitely the right one for me. The problem is that the battery needs replaced and the right side plate that contains the speakers had chipped paint that has only gotten worse. The finger pad is very used, as well. Other than the cosmetics and the batteryr, I love it and can't believe I got it for such a low price! Definitely worth it for the price!

I was looking to replace my wife's aging Compaq running XP service-pack 0 and this seemed to fit the bill. I use Dell Latitudes for my work so I'm familiar with the product. The product arrived 3 days later than promised. When I opened the box I discovered it was lacking a power brick and was not the model in the offer. The offer was for a D630 and I was shipped a D620. Contacting customer service was a nightmare -- don't ever call the 1-800 number. I was told the D630s were out of stock and the D620s listed for $50 more (made no sense); nonetheless I received a $20 refund for the inconvenience. After 3 days Customer Service located a power brick and a week later I was up and running. The D620 certainly is adequate for my wife's needs and the laptop runs fine. I had no difficulty getting the OS initialized and registered. However, this experience demonstrates a lack of customer focus and I doubt I'll be ordering another from Overstock.com.

When you browse the large selection of laptops here on Overstock.com, you may see this icon that labels them as "refurbished." A refurbished laptop is either a computer that has been returned to the retailer or manufacturer for a refund by a customer or a computer that has just come off a lease. The computer may have had a slight defect or simply not met a customer's expectations. Before a laptop can be resold, any defective components are repaired or replaced and the computer is then carefully examined to ensure it works properly. Any computer that goes through this process must be identified as refurbished or reconditioned. Refurbished laptops can be a bargain compared to some new models, but it's important to make a few comparisons first to make sure you're getting a good deal.
