I had some reserve about buying a laptop on line but, I have to say the Sony is great. No problems and the communications from overstock made the transaction easy The shipping was fast. Thank you. Bill

Overall this is a great laptop, screen is great for work and multimedia. CPU is plenty powerful (make sure to set your power settings when it's plugged in or on battery or it will be hobbled by speed-step), two versions available for graphics, NVidia GO or Intel integrated, I have the integrated and the performance is disappointing, get the NVidia. My major complaint with this laptop is the included Sony software, or should I say "bloatware"... It took me several hours to remove the software I will never use, keep in mind some of this software is not just taking up disk space but is actually robbing performance, case in point the media software uses Microsoft SQL Server Express edition, not a problem if you intend to do development work with it but if you are not using it or the Sony media services the SQL services are always running and it uses memory and CPU for nothing. After several hours of removing Sony media software, games trial software, photo trial software, Microsoft Office trial software and Norton trial software (use AVG it's free and does not slow you to a crawl for $50) I had removed over 20 entries in Add/Remove programs. Even after all this I still can't get rid of AOL short of deleting the folder and hacking entries from the registry, very frustrating but worth the effort, laptop is now running great. Final thoughts: Hardware: CPU: Excellent Integrated video: Poor HD/Memory: Good Expansion/DVD: Excellent Included software: Garbage

The computer is difficult to operate due to Vista. I can not get the phone connection to stay hooked up, can not stay online for more than a few minutes. I bet this computer could hum if Vista wasn't on it. I needed to hire someone to help me get it to operate- I am no computer wiz. I just wanted the ease of a lap top to use at home.
