Rain gauge was exactly how advertised. It is small enough not to take up too much space, letters large enough to read easily. Fun to watch rain numbers change daily and have accumulative rain fall as well. Very nice. Would recommend.

This is a basic rain gauge, which will be plenty for alot of people. Measure total rain and rain over the last 24 hours. It is missing some basic features other slightly more expensive models might have such as outdoor temp, indoor temp, and time and date features. These are more meaningful features for someone wanting a greater amount of data about the watering history.

It was fairly complicated to set up- not just a simple" add batteries & go". To make matters worse, it has repeatedly failed to function. We have tested & replaced the batteries numerous times. We were careful to mount it on a flat surface, in the open (we chose to mount it on the back side of our mailbox post, so we wouldn't have to worry about going around something else with the lawnmower). This last time, I tested the batteries- they were all 4 good, so I reset it again, reinstalled it on the mailbox post, and poured some water in it to see if it registered an amount. It did NOT. I am frustrated and would like to send it back for a refund, as well as tell others- DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I carefully placed this device in an area where no debris could get to to. After two or three storms .25 - .50 inches of rain (as measured by my standard guage right beside this one) it never measured more that .11.......not happy at all.

We liked this so much we bought one for our parents.
