Awesome monitor, so bright, clear, and the text is amazing. Great deal, highly recommended. Shipped quickly and packaged very well.
I am typically apprehensive about purchasing refurbished electronics, but for the price I couldn't resist a non-TN 24-in lcd. When I received my monitor, I feared that my concerns were about to be realized. The packaging that it was shipped in was ghastly. I was concerned enough that I photographed each step in unpacking it in anticipation of finding significant damage. To my surprise, while the package wasn't pretty, there were so many layers of foam board, foam wrap and foam peanuts, as well as 2 boxes that the monitor within went unscathed. As others have noted, the refurbisher does not include a signal cable of any sort, so factor another $15 into the price for a decent DVI to HDMI cable. Aesthetically, my unit was flawless. If I didn't know better, I would have sworn it was factory new.As others have noted, factory color preset on these monitors is horrible. After calibration (I use a Datacolor Spyder 3) the color was phenomenal. Images are crisp and true. I thought at first that I had a few lazy pixels. As it turns out the problem was with my video card and had gone unnoticed with my previous monitor. After a planned upgrade to a new card (Quadro FX 4000) the issue is resolved. As for reliability, I have used this monitor for several months and it has operated without a hiccup. I run my workstation on the HDMI input and a DirecTv receiver on the component ins. Between the two, the display pulls several hours of duty every day. Several friends and family members have purchased this display at my suggestion and I have yet to receive a report of trouble.
I had it for a few days and the screen turns really pale, covered with a bright white shade. Great color before it broke, I am returning it. The risk and trouble for getting a refurbished product I guess.
I couldn't be happier with this monitor (except my video card isn't cooperating with a 1920x1200 setting, but that's not the monitor's fault)! SPECTACULAR video display, but the best part is 16:10 aspect ratio, which gives sooooo much more vertical room. This is not a TN panel and I find it brilliant and true. Wonderful in every way except the lack of a DVI input, which I knew before I purchased it, so again, no worries.
Good refurbished monitor. Not a TN panel. It's a PVA or MVA or some such thing. So a really good deal for a low cost 24" monitor...Upon setting it up, it didn't look so great, but after adjusting the color mode to sRGB, it looked great and has really true color, good contrast ratio (true ratio is something around 400:1 which is much better than average). Great viewing angle, too! PROS: Viewing angle, HD. CONS: Scuffed up (refurb), default settings just so-so, choose the sRGB profile.
