I would recommend this to anyone that wants to hook this up to an older or even newer pc or unix linux box that wants the power of being able to use as many cd dvd formats as this drive handles, I really like it.

I have had this external DVD+/-RW drive for over a year and haven't had any issues with it. I keep it connected to my laptop docking station since my laptop's DVD drive is difficult to access when docked. It has performed exactly as described and expected. I have not pushed its limits by any means, but it has performed every task I've given it.
