I purchased two phones in Feb. of 2006. At first I liked them but now I have replaced both of them. One lost it display completely so most features became useless. The other one the volume would no go high enough to hear the person you were calling if there was any backround noise at all. From the beginning the caller ID was not what I wanted. It only shows the number without the name of the caller. I would reccomend avoiding this item. If I could return them I would.
The picture looked really good. I thought the phone was not going to look cheap. It does. I saw it advertised in my hometown for less than half price. Ouch. I guess I was under the impression that I was getting something I would not see in drug stores, something unique and above average. It is not.
I like the music on hold option, the announcement of the number of whose calling. My only gripe is that the volume is too low and you can not adjust it any higher. If there is any noise in the room you can not hear the announcement nor can you hear the conversation using the hands free portion of the phone.
Looks cute, thats about it. This phone drives from a couple of double a batts. when they get low the entire phone shuts down. It is difficult to dial, the hand set is small and the cord only lets you sit within 18" of the phone. The other features are junk and will not work if you are using the phone. It is Junk !! I picked one up for a fraction of the price listed and still feel ripped off. This phone isn't worth the shipping.
I have had this product for about a month now and am very pleased with the quality and the features. So far it has been durable, and that means something when there are 6 children in the house. I like that it speaks the phone number....I can hear it in the other room while I am getting to the phone or finding a cordless phone. I like the touch screen. It is extremely easy to use. I like the hands-free feature. I use hands-free when I am dialing most of the time. My kids think this is a great phone. This phone is a great value for the money.
Ok.... ok I should have known better, but my curiosity got the better of me. I should have listened to the other reviews about this item. The phone looks cool sitting on the desk, but that is about all it is good for. If you actually want to use it to make a call, be ready to get a little forceful. The receiver does not hang up if you just set it back into the cradle, you must slam it down 2 to 3 time before it will disconnect the call. I often wonder what the people on the other end of the line must be thinking; I am not usually an anga ry person. Also, the receiver may at any time dislodge from the cradle, thus opening your phone line, and if not noticed in time you will randomly hear that annoying phone off the hook beep. The phone also has a very loud (and annoying) rind tune that you can not shut off, so you should plan on keeping this in an office with a closing door. All in all this phone looks great, but that is all that it has going for it.
After hooking this phone up, I was pleased with it's overall look. I like the fact that it sits upright and had large buttons for dialing and an optional night light feature as well as of course, the talking caller ID. All great features that led me to purchase in the first place. The down side (and it's the deal breaker) is the fact that it runs on 3 AAA batteries and I have changed mine TWICE since setting it up less than 10 days ago. The 'talking' caller ID drains so much power to run from the AAA batteries that it burns through the batteries in a matter of 3-4 days. Then I am left with a dark dialing pad that does not even display the Caller ID, let alone speak it. It works fine to dial out, but be prepared to change batteries about every 4 days if you want any Caller ID functions, illuminated numbers or night light features to work.
The caller ID is what works best. The phone is difficult to set up but doable. The touch panel is tempramental. If you answer the phone be prepared to stay right there because you might have a 15" length cord. Hanging up the phone to disconnect your call requires precise positioning of the reciever into the cradle. 2 AA batteries are required for functioning and when they go out, so does your phone and all the settings that were so difficult to set up. You can find this phone at any local drug store or junk store for half the price. Bad purchase.
This was my Christmas presents to some of my family. It looks nice, and with a few corrections it would be so much better: It has a ring tone that sounds like a Chinese ice cream truck that is a bit annoying, even the first time you hear it. It looks good, and a bit difficult to program. A few of them did not work properly and I trashed them as they were not worth returning. I have worked in electronics for over 25 years by building and inspecting transmitters,...but these are a fair investment. If the audio speaker changed to someone else that was not so annoying when someone called, and a changed ring tone that did not make you want to pull it out of the wall connection. I am saying that I wish that I had not bought this, and my bright idea was not so great after all. That said: buy it, and it is a fair investment. I still like overstock, and I will just avoid electronics from the Internet. DVD's are fine, and music CD's are great here. Have a Merry Christmas, Joe from Texas, USA.
I have had this phone for three years. We no longer change the batteries. The phone looks better than it works. So, use it to impress, but would not recommend it as one of your main phones. Ours is used about twice a week, and that is probably all it can take.
The phone is a great value and looks very modern. I like the features but the volume control only has high and low. If you have a hearing problem or just like the volume a little higher you are out of luck.
its a cheap phone, but good. If you are looking for a decent phone its ok.
Features on the phone are great. ONE THING THOUGH, NONE OF THE FEATURES WORK. THE LCD WILL NOT LIGHT UP.
I received this phone with the battery cover missing and used. I re-read the description and nothing indicates used or re-furbished but still no excuse for missing parts. It certainly wasn't worth the amount I paid.
the elegance of this phone is great. it is like a small desktop computer screen that can either sit up as displayed or fold down flat and still be used. i can see the numbers without my magnifying glasses. extremely streamlined, you really have to look for the handset it blends into its cradle and creates a solid surface next to the dialpad display. plays music when it rings so i don't have to decide if it is a phone on the tv ringing or should i answer the phone. very pleased with it and i don't even have caller id right now. so i have a suprise to look forward to.
The only problem i have is the volume on the speaker phone
This telephone has a whole lot of bells and whistles, but a VERY poor volume control. Has only two settings, high ( which is not adequate) and low. There is very little difference between them, thus it is not possible for the phone to be used by everyone. This precludes me from recommending to other folks.
The phone will work on when the batteries are included. You put the batteries in and the none of the advertised features work. I would have returned the junk but I am away and its at home in the box. It would be nice to get an extension to return it to the company
I like the oveall feature of the phone. But when i Go to key in the numbers the phone falls over. You should have a biger base for the phone and not make it so flimsy. I would like to also have space to plug in my computer to it, not availble right now. The overall clarity of the phone is nice. I would like to have the choice to have a regular ring tone. The tones you have are too barrish and incencitive. But the ease of puting in automatic diling in is great, only i have more than 10 relatives that i keep in touch with. Over all it is a good
The phone is very good for the frist 3 or 4 days. Then the light goes out. Phone works but you can't see who is calling or the number. Can't hardly hear on the phone at. Other than those 2 the phone is very nice. It stands up so you don't have to get up to see.
