Sanyo DP19657 19-inch LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner (Refurbished)

I was somewhat impressed with the Flat screen TV I ordered. I had ordered it for my mom who is in a nursing home. I was very impressed with the shipping. She received her TV within 5 to 7 business days. It is very compact and looks great on her small shelve. She doesn't have a lot of room. The TV looks great, too! I thought the sound was good. The only thing I was disappointed with was the picture. The picture quallity was poor. Before ordering this TV I had my husband review the features. I assumed that the TV did not need an extra antenna. When visiting my mom in Illinois the picture quality was bad. Now we may have to get an antenna or have someone do some adjusting.

I had been a big Sony fan until Sony fell into disfavor over a hidiously expensive HDTV I paid way too much for and that only lasted three years. I replaced that with a Philips 37", which I'm very happy with. Then I saw this Sanyo and it had such good reviews and was such a great deal that I thought I'd try Sanyo. I love it so much that I recently bought another Sanyo (26") for the bedroom. They both have great pictures, sound, they are easy to integrate with my DirecTV system remote. I hope they last longer than 3 years, but at least I'm not out a hideous amount of money if they don't. Generally, I've had better luck with refurbs than new items like the Sony was. The Phillips, and both Sanyos were all refurbs from Overstock.com. The term "refurbished" means "got the bugs out" to me.

I got this for the bedroom, and it works great in there. I got it hooked up to my satelitte box with no problem at all. The picture quality and sound are good, although I did have to rearrange some things to move it down so I was looking at it more directly. At an upward angle, the picture is way too dark and has some funky patterns, which, I've since found out, is typical of LCDs. Still, I'd buy this again.
