The HB70 Infrared (line of sight) Stereophone system consists of a single channel wireless stereophone and a compact infrared transmitter. Incorporating infrared technology, the HB70 is ideal for home audio, video and computer use. The transmitter connects to most home systems through a 3.5mm headphone jack or audio output. Utilizing infrared (IR) technology, it transmits an invisible, infrared signal to the headphone which then reproduces the audio signal. Unlike conventional wireless systems the HB70 is relatively small and lightweight for extended listening periods.

Useless. Noisy, clips on volume peaks
The headphones are very noisy, even when the transmitter is close to the headset. However, the worst problem is that it clips the signal on volume peaks at even moderately loud volumes. I can't use it for it's intended purpose, which was to be my headset for hearing the external music track while I play drums. In order to hear the music, I have to turn it up moderately loud, and the device starts clipping on the volume peaks well before it should. That makes it worthless for use in any environment where there is a lot of ambient noise and you have to turn up the volume. You can only use it in very quiet settings, where you can keep the volume turned down. And of course, in that case, you get all the hissing and noise associated with an infrared transmitter.
