So good we bought another
A simple to use adapter that allows you to connect a small sata drive to a powered usb port. An easy way to access multiple spare laptop hard drives, recover data from a failed laptop, or backup data to a cheap drive.

Excellent Adapter
I purchased this adapter for a notebook 2.5" SATA drive to connect via USB. It worked perfectly, and the convenience of not requiring a separate power adapter really paid off (be aware you will need a powered USB port to provide both power and data transfer). I connected to a 500 GB Seagate Momentus disk, and formatted (full) and performed several data access tests. Speed was average for USB 2.0 connection for 7200 RPM drive connected externally.
