The concept behind this combination flash drive and SD/SDHC card reader is outstanding. Unfortunately, the execution is not as inspired as the concept. On the computers that I use regularly (Macs and Windows XP), the device sometimes requires a wait of 1-2 minutes to recognize that an SD card has been inserted, and sometimes it doesn't recognize an SD card even after several minutes of waiting. This is simply not acceptable. I do enjoy how the included 1GB flash drive allows me to save special pictures in a special place as I'm cleaning off a card, and I like how this feature allows me to use a public computer to make space on the card without losing important data. If this card worked as well as its concept, Kingston would have had a home run. As it is, it's a great idea, when it's working, but it's a royal pain when it's not. This is the second Kingston SDHC reader that I have purchased that doesn't work properly. The shipping charges to obtain a "FREE RETURN" to Kingston on the last one exceeded the purchase price, yet I was dumb enough to purchase another Kingston product. Note to Kingston: Technology that doesn't ALWAYS work as it should usually finds itself at the bottom of a junk drawer.

No need to buy a seperate card reader or download SD cards from your camera to your computer via USB. I was so happy with this flash that I had to order another one for my husband so he wouldn't steal mine.
