Decision to buy this depends on what you have now.
We thought the sound quality coming out of our Dell laptop was not as good as we'd like. This was purchased to improve on that. It did not. We felt the laptop had better sounds than this add on, but it was close. Additionally, the tab or hook on the speaker is not adjustable and will not mount well on the edge of the top of the laptop. So, we had to locate it beside the laptop The cooling fan is probably something that could add life to a laptop removing heat, but is clumsy to use. We tend to put small stick-on pads under the laptop to get it more off the surface as well as making it easier to move on flat surfaces and elevate it from the surface for heat dispersion. The speaker and fan will go on *** one of these days.
