I found these headphones to be all that they were advertised. Although they were not advertised as noise canceling they do greatly restrict outside noise. If a person want to talk to me they have to get my attention so that I can remove they to hear them. They are comfortable, but in warm weather do get a little hot. The phones are easy to adjust to fit various end users. the plug are bright shinny gold and have the adapter so that it fits multiple items from computers to receivers. I would recommend their use as a good mid priced headphones. They are better than the old higher priced Sonny set that they replaced.
The JVC HA-DX1 headphone are the real deal. The are comfortable, well constructed, and aesthetically pleasing. You will want to use these with a suitable (strong and clean) high end source. I would suggest a headphone amp, as this will really bring out the bass. This is not a bass-head's pair of cans (headphones). The bass is there, and accurate, but not overwhelming. What shines with these headphones are the mid and upper frequencies. And they are fast enough to correctly present the attack in piano playback, making the listening much more real. Guitar recordings, in an acoustic setting, really stand out. The isolation is fairly well accomplished, so that lower listening level can be used with good detail available. They lean slightly toward the analytical, and are not as forgiving toward poorly recorded materials. If you have a excellent source you will be rewarded with a fine listening experience.
I received my headphones in a very short time. They sound great, have great noise cancelling. They are a bit on the pricey side, but as a PC gamer I enjoy the High Definition Digital sound. My wife enjoys the silence almost as much as I enjoy the headphones. I can only see her lips moving and nothing else!!
