We bought the JVC to replace a old canon Mini DV Cam. We were a little hesitant about buying refurb. Overstock shipped right away, packed the Cam perfectly and we received the product promptly. I would definately recommend Overstock.com and JVC products from here on out!!

I own this camera. I actually had to go through three of them before I got one that worked right. The first had a really loud motor that recorded onto the sound track. Then the replacement one jammed (while I was filming on vacation) and the third one is still going strong. This is a relatively new model, so I think they're perhaps still working the bugs out. When it works, it's a great camera, really easy to use, great quality, and at this price probably the best thing out there. I would definitely suggest getting the platinum warantee with it though, and use it as soon as you get it to make sure it's okay. The mini-DV format is the way to go for affordable quality. It would have been nice if there was a way to plug in an external microphone, but other than that it's a great camera for the price.
