I am a grandma and this was a simple and inexpensive solution to having bought a printer, scanner, fax that does not have card slots like my old one did. It is plug and play...nothing to install and it really is USB 2.0 not just capable of interfacing (some models can interface but actually operate slowly at the old speed standard). Why did I wait so long to buy it???????????

I never realized what a hastle it was having to always swap USB cords all the time. With this unit, I have my most used cords plugged into the back and still have two open ones right up front for my MP3 player and Thumbdrives. Having the versatility of many memory card types is also a great luxury. This unit cleaned up my work space and is definately a must have!
