Customer Reviews
I generally like this computer. The only real problem I have with it is that my disc drive makes a horrible noise. I don't use the drive much, but DVDs and CDs seem to work okay in it. It's just that awful noise. Also, the USB jacks in the front are a little hard to get to. The front is slanted so it's hard to plug in in front. A USB multi-jack plug-in for the back solves the problem. I also replaced the keyboard that came with it; it seems like it had a short in the cable. If your needs are basic, this is a great desktop to have.
I had an older computer that was too slow even for the kids to play around on. So I ordered the IBM Thinkcentre 8172 as an inexpensive replacement. Since I already had a monitor, mouse, speakers, and a keyboard, it was far cheaper even than a new netbook. It was a snap to set up. It has worked perfectly, is fast, and made the kids really happy by running all their games and internet apps with ease.
Decided to try a desktop instead of another laptop as a spare family computer - sure glad I did! This computer is superfast compared to laptops costing over twice as much. It has the DVD/RW and all the features I wanted including multiple USB ports.. The unit was clean, looked only slightly used and was small enough to be placed in a small space. I will buy another if one of our older computers stops working.
This refurbished computer was like new when I got it. It did have a cheap mouse and a cheap keyboard. I was able to use my old keyboard and mouse, which was fine. I have always been satisfied when purchasing from Overstock.
I had purchase this for a back-up for another area in the house...Its more then I expected and with features that put it right to work. I like the shipping perk too...OVERSTOCK is always the first place I look.
