IBM THINKPAD T23 SERIES IS OUTSTANDING COMPATIBILITY WITH UPGRADING AND PERIPHERALS. I BOUGHT T23 900MHz,256MB RAM,20GB HDD PREVIOUSLY AT OVERSTOCK.COM. I UPGRADE IT TO 512MB RAM,250GB EXTERNAL HDD,WIRELESS PCMCIA WITH LESS THAN $400. I USE 1GB USB FLASH DRIVE(PLUG AND PLAY) AS A FILE PORTER.I INSTALLED NORTON INTERNET SECURITY AND ANTIVIRUS WITH LESS THAN $50.I CAN'T BUY READY MADE COMPUTER SYSTEM LIKE MINE WITH THIS BUDGET.

Being recently unemployed and a consultant I needed an inexpensive but dependable laptop. I've had ThinkPads before and felt this was a good buy. I received it promptly and everything worked fine except the DVD drive. I had purchased the extended warranty but couldn't wait 6 weeks to get the paperwork. Overstock provided me the toll free number for IBM and I had a new DVD drive the next day under the manufacturer's 90 day warranty. Another great reason to have an IBM product!

The IBM T-23 is simply a marvelous tool for home,work,or play. It's been my first and only P.C. since 2003 when first purchased. Since then I have upgraded its memory to 512MB,and hard drive to 80GB at a relative low cost. The T-23 versatility is endless.

What a bargain!! My first laptop and I'm thoroughly satisfied!! It's fast and great for DVD viewing! GREAT buy!

Excellent product! I could not decide whether I wanted to take the "risk" of purchasing a refurbished product, but I am so pleased that I did. For $700, I received a product far superior to the new laptop I bought four years ago for $1100.

These refurb IBM's are excellent. I've bought several of them and none have had a problem. They work well, they're light and they don't have that horrible "touch pad" for a mouse. Personally, my 1.2 mhz IBM dances all over that boat anchor sony 2.0 mhz vaio garbage I gave to my wife. IBM Rules the laptop world despite any review from the "pros".

A great buy!! Bought for my daughter who started college this year. Very light, crisp..clear screen. DVDs work great! My daughter loves the computer for college...very fast computer.

This laptop is a workhorse, and a good value. You get a generous sized hard drive and enough ram to give many desktop computers a run for their money.this computer is easily upgradable.

What a surprise! It's one of the lightest notebooks I have ever owned. The features and the ability to expand it's memory compacity is what made me solidify the purchase. Consider that many users do not use the compacity in the older laptops. Which is really already a shame. By just adding additional memory to an older laptop can extend the life of it for at least fives years.I am a developer for a local software company, and would highly recommend this versatile laptop to anyone! You will definitely have a few years of great service!

I never thought I would be able to afford a computer this great. It is faster than any computer I have owned, and so lightweight. The monitor is crisp and clear. And it is all very user friendly. Great Buy!
