Customer Reviews
Well, you truly do get what you pay for! Here's my story:On 06/29/09 I purchased this computer here at overstock. To their credit (or UPS's) it arrived slightly ahead of scheduled delivery. I plugged the computer in at 5pm, and began configuring it. Less than 6 hours later, the computer turned itself off, and died. Nothing I could do would restart it.I returned the PC and was sent a new (refurbed) unit.New unit arrived today 7/16/09. As I took it out of the box, there was something OBVIOUSLY clunking around loose, within the computer. My first thought was; put it back in the box, immediately. I continued to remove the PC and hook it up. The first screen I got upon turning on the monitor:"Windows could not start because the following is missing or corrupt<WINDOWS ROOT>\system 32\hal.dllPlease re-install a copy of the above"I dialed overstock.com and briefly (and calmly) explained the situation. To my surprise, the operator said "this is completely unacceptable...we'd like to offer a full refund".So, tomorrow it gets re-boxed and heads back to them. No money out of my pocket, but 2 weeks of delays and missed deadlines on my part. Yes, I'm unhappy.Thankfully, overstock was easy to deal with and accomodating. Will I ever purchase from them again, perhaps...just not a refurbed computer!!
