  I got the box in the mail and everything looked intake. Took out all components and inspected, all looked great. Mounted speakers and positioned the main component and hooked all wires up. Ran the setup process and watched AVITAR. WOW very nice sound indeed. All in all this is a great system, only one small drawback and that's the reaction time between the system and the remote control is slow, I would press pause and it would take a second or so for the component to respond to that command to take in effect.

  after hooking up the player, no matter if I used a store boughten cd or a cd-r, the unit kept on telling me there was no cd in the unit. had to return the unit back.

  I remember Sherwood from years ago. This unit is a nice basic receiver. Just two issues: 1. The remote is cheaply built. I don't think it will be long before the buttons don't do anything anymore (soft touch) 2. The display is way too dim for my needs. It is dimable but when dimmed, it is more like off. I cannot see the display from 8 feet away. The sound quality is good. The unit looks to be well assembled.
