Excellent USB Hub and customer service
 from Montana,  Apr 10, 2008

You can rely on Overstock.com. I purchased an inexpensive 4 port USB hub that would not function and Overstock accepted the return with no resistance. This hub is also very low in price, but I decided that I would take a chance since their customer service was so good. The hub plugged in and was up and running as expected, with no problems. It has performed perfectly and for much less cost than many well known hubs. I highly recommend it. The case is clear blue plastic and has a color changing blinking light and all the ports are lit up like a christmas tree.:-)

BRIGHT hub!
 from PA,  Dec 29, 2007

It works great. The hub has ports on both sides, which means you need more room than many other hubs. It has multiple color LED's, one for each port, and a flashing LED in the center which seems to indicate it is active. If you don't mind the flashing LED and/or like the LEDs (my kids think they are cool, I think they are annoying) then this would be a good hub.

not what I expected
from Rochester, NY,  Dec 23, 2007

this item works well as a hub in general but the flashing lights I find extremely annoying and it will not produce enough power to run my external laptop drive enclosure.

Does a good job
from Boston, MA,  Nov 23, 2007

This seems to be working fine. I do get an occasional message that my iPod shuffle wants more power which is odd since the reason I bought this hub was because it was powered and I wanted to replace my old unpowered one. It flashes like Christmas lights but I don't mind since my desk area is hidden behind doors when not in use. Overall, it's a good value for the money, I'd say.

7 port usb hub
from Hampton County, SC,  Oct 18, 2007

I have used Overstock numerous times, as always fast shipping. This USB Hub is great, but I do find sometimes that some items must be plugged into the cpu itself to be recognized. Overall it is a great product and Overstock is a great site.

7 port USB hub
from San Francisco Area, California,  Oct 3, 2007

If you want a light show, then yes buy this product. This hub (for the most part of it) it works. However, when I attach a USB device, it seems to reset the hub and reactivate all the USB connection on the hub.For example, I have a USB external hard drive attached permanently and if I attach a digital camera so I could download the images to my computer, I sometimes get a dialog box for the USB hard drive that it is scanning thru the drive (like when I first attach the hard drive). Also , all the lights for each hub stays on all the time, so you cannot tell if that port is active or not, Then there is that light in the middle that just changes color constantly and tells you nothing.

Kinda flashy, but good for price
from Rochester, NY,  Jul 18, 2007

This thing has a bunch of LED's (lights) inside of it which just flash at random in different colors. It's like something you would use around christmas. But other than that, the unit seems to work ok, it has 7 ports (which is an odd number, but basically you can connect 6 extra devices to your computer now), comes with correct cables and adaptor and it powers itself good. Works on Mac and PC with both Windows and Linux (it's just a simple hub, so no extra drivers necessary)

long lasting
 from Arizona,  Sep 3, 2011

I had been using this hub for over a year and it just works. I run4 peripheral devices on it and never had a problem.

  • How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Accurate
  • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yep
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Lasted a long time

Good value
from Northern VA,  Jan 10, 2010

Product does what is expected. Only negative is that the USB cord supplied that you use to connect the hub to your computer should be longer, if you dont want the hub to sit on your desk or too close to your pc its a problem.

Not so good
from Berkeley Ca,  Dec 26, 2008

7-port hub, well the speed through the hub for any bigger package of data is DREADFUL. For example computer to printer, one page is about 10% slower than without device. 50 pages and you be retired and buried before it happens! Without the 50 page(PDF photo quality) transfer it takes 8 minutes (printer is slow) and with 7 port I went shopping (3 hours) and came back and it had not completed the task. Pretty lights, if you like that sort of thing!

Worth every cent
from Dundalk, MD,  Sep 25, 2008

I am very pleased with this it suits my need and I especialy like the lights, I would recomend this to any one that need's more then 2 or 3 USB Hubs I also ike the fact that if I only need 2 or 3 I still have 4 more to fall back on. The workmanship is good as is the size not to big and not to small, Also the price is right, Like they say you only get what you pay for. this is a good buy.. So go out and get one order it from Overstock even if you dont need it now you will in the future for sure. so go get it , order it and you wont be sorry. woollybear65

All flash and NO function
from West Texas, USA,  Sep 22, 2008

If you need a cool night light, buy this. If you need a usb hub that functions properly, find another one, this one is junk. If I want to print something I have to unplug and replug my printer, usb mouse WILL NOT work from this hub, USB powered external harddrive has to be started and restarted regularly during use. DON'T BUY THIS, IT'S A PIECE OF JUNK!!!!

USB 7 Port Hub
from South Florida,  Jun 20, 2008

The only flaw in an otherwise excellent product are the LED lights. They are annoying - especially the one in the center that flashes. Still, for the money, it is a good buy.

the hub works as advertised, which is all that can reasonably be expected, and more than you always get. I'm satisfied with it.

right up my alley...
from baltimore, md,  Mar 30, 2008

i received my new usb adapter within 3 days of placing the order...i'm a gadget nut and also crazy about things that blink, move and make noise...there were not any directions, but pretty much self expanatory to hook up...my computer that has XP picked it up right away...i did have to put little balls of rubber on the underside to keep it from sliding around...i also wish they were stackable...i may by another one and daisy chain together versus using the 2 ports on my cpu...it's great having not to pull out the cpu to plug/unplug...and the blinking lights is refreshing to have when walking into a dark room after a long day...

Good gadget
from San Diego, Ca,  Mar 2, 2008

A good hub, does what a hub is supposed to do, six USB extension cables are no longer needed. The lights, if routinely in line of sight, can be boring but the grandkids see them as cool. I would see the lights as cool if related to activity, but that would probably increase price and reduce value.
