This is my third scanner I bought. I returned the previous two (different brands) with either software not functioning properly or scanner itself malfunctioning and decided to make a 3rd attempt since I'm owning massive number of old (even early century ) family)pictures which I don't want to be lost and want to be organized into e-albums. First of all appearance - scanner is very sleek and handy to manage. Software was installed within 20 min. without any hussle at all. Results of scanning were awesome! Black-white old pictures can be retouched (but not overdone), small forgotten images transferred into large size jpg images. I spent two days just enjoying creating new e-albums! Quality of images is very good, reduction of red eye works perfectly. One small hussle happening sporadically is that when I scan multiple pictures simulteniously sometimes scanner has dificulty to determine correct frames for every picture but this issue can be easily resolved. Overall my opinion that for THIS price it's an excellent tool.

This is the fifth scanner I have owned in 30 years of personal computing. Every other scanner has come with fax software. This one did not. I contacted HP and they were less than concerned that a document scanner came without document faxing software. I found some cheap faxing software on the internet that works with the scanner, but why do I have to buy software to support the product I bought? It's always been bundled in the past. The least they could do is offer it online.

I bought this to scan family pictures. Worked very well. I dont use it a lot now. It worked great for my project.

I am very happy with my HP ScanJet. It has a few quirks when scanning slides, but I am working with it. Overall, it has suited my needs very well.

This is a great scanner for photos and text documents. I occassionally need to scan a text document, but my primary use is to scan photos of the family that are not digital and save them on a multicard for fireproof storage. I will never again worry about loosing photos due to a hurricane or tornado.

I had to buy a newer scanner because of Vista. It was worth the investment. Love the software...
