Overall (so far), this computer was pretty much as good as I expected.0) Shipping was fast (2 days from WA to CA), and the system was well packed (original packing).1) The computer was a slightly scuffed on the outside, but everything on the inside was quite clean. And it works as well as expected (zippy, and with 2 cores). In particular it's a very quiet system - even sitting right next to it you can't tell the computer is on unless the hard disk is running.2) The video card was a little better than advertised (NVS285 rather than a NVS280), but the memory was the worst configuration fitting the description of 2 GB memory (4 x 512M sticks which fill up the memory slots, making it more expensive to expand memory), so I'll consider those a wash.3) The keyboard and mouse were both HP branded and new (the power cord was new, too), so better than I expected, however, the mouse was not usable on this computer - the cord was so short that it must have come from a laptop or all-in-one system. Again, a wash.4) The price was a bit high from what I saw on the internet ($350 was more normal), but I had a 10% coupon and free shipping that put it into decent bargain status.5) The only real complaint was that there was no operating system or rescue disk provided. I realize that none was specified/advertised, but still, that puts someone in a bind if their system crashes at some later date. And the XP serial number was scuffed to be just barely legible.6) Note that the system has only a 30 day warranty, but that doesn't worry me because of the quality of these HP workstations (I also feel the same about Dell Precision workstations that I use at work - they just keep working).
