Looking at the specifications of all of the individual components in this ridiculously overpriced machine, i would value it somewhere at 700-800. it runs on Windows 7. It also has upgrade able RAM, up to 32 gbs. those are about the only good things on this computer for this price. there is another computer better than this (750 gb HDD, i7 3630qm, 8gb RAM, upgrade able to 16, Nvidia gt630 1gb, windows 8 (it sucks, i know.)) for a grand price of 699 after savings (979 without) sold by HP. half the price for a better hardrive, and same specs. the HP EliteBook 8570w is a major ripoff. also, if you do get the other computer with windows 8 (HP ENVY dv6-7215nr) i recommend using Classic Shell for it. the ENVY is not a touch screen, but Classic Shell basically turns it into a version of windows 8 not dominated by the Metro Start Screen.
