I needed a new laptop but didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I wanted one that had Microsoft XP instead of Vista. This laptop suited my needs perfectly. Even though the model has been around for four years, it more than hold its own against the newer laptops. I like the fact that it has 3 USB ports (although I wish that HP had put a couple in the back instead of on the sides); I also like that it has both a touch pad and a built-in mouse pointer. My only concern was the 40 GB hard drive because I thought that after loading all of my software I would only have 20 GB left -- surprisingly, I still have over 30 GB. The laptop arrived in near mint condition several days earlier than I had expected. One more thing, I've seen this same model (refurbished) selling for $1000 and more at other so-called discount sites on the internet. Overstock provides the best value and service.

The laptop died on the 32day of owning it. Very frustrating. Due to the incredibly low price it did not make sense to purchase a warranty. OUCH!

Although I am very impressed with this computer I am hesitant to leave a great review because of Overstock not allowing updates to our reviews. If this computer was to roll over and die in say 3 months I would be unable to communicate that and anyone reading this would assume all is rosy. All I will say is "so far so good". Also stay away from Phat Tommy 7' Umbrellas - boy that is a review I would like to update.

Got this to do some writing nad play some internet poker while away from my desktop. It does exactly what I ask, no problems thus far only had it for a week though. Comes with XP and now that I am adjusted to Vista I wish it had that. it's the only drawback that I can see so far.

Did lots of research and price comparisons. Nothing could touch this deal. Glad I made purchase and with 1G RAM added this thing runs better than brand new models. Absolutely Awesome- and it very clean not even a spec of dust!

Although I have a fully loaded bells-and-whistle laptop, I found I needed another simple one for word processing for offsite/mobile purposes where my work is saved to a (USB) flash drive then uploaded to my home PC. Since I only required word processing I was a tad dismayed that this laptop was obviously an older model---the margins don't exactly line-up with my newer computers---but I can live with that, especially considering the price. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find this laptop has wireless capabilities. As such, it'll do nicely.

The laptop is exactly as expected, and a terrific buy for the price. But what impressed me most was Overstock.com's speed in getting it to me. I hadn't paid for overnight or 2nd day delivery, but it came much more quickly than I ever expected. Good product, great job Overstock.com!!

I've had this computer for nearly a month and couldn't be happier with it! While it doesn't have all the newer features out now (b/c it's an older model) it's great for internet and microsoft office suite--which is all I need.The laptop is also a really nice light, compact size--which I didn't expect. I am VERY satisfied with my purchase and with Overstock! (it arrived in less than a week)

This HP laptop is really great, especially for the price.It is just as good as brand new.
