You get what you pay for is not the phrase I would use for this laptop! I bought this for my 13 year old daughter. Her uses are homework and internet (social and research). This laptop has far exceeded my expectations. It has a nice big screen and friendly keyboard. Installation to our wireless internet and printer was easier than snapping your fingers. Two things I found somewhat disappointing. 1. It is rather heavy, and therefore, more prone to be dropped. 2. It does not come with microsoft word, power point, etc. This may have been stated in its description, but I thought it read that software was installed. Overall, a very good buy!

We used this laptop for the kids. It does well with basic tasks...basic web browsing, word processing, emailing. Definitely not suited for games/programs that use a lot of memory/detailed graphics.

This computer would be way better if it wasn't so slow. I bought it for my boyfriend, and he still uses my laptop because his is "too slow!"

I work on a Dell laptop daily, and was looking for a personal laptop with similar attributes that I could load ballistics programs on as well as photo editing programs, plus have e-mail and internet capability. This laptop is almost identical to my work laptop as far as memory, operating speed, etc, however I like the HP keyboard better than the Dell since the HP doesn't have the "quick-point" feature. The mousepad isn't as sensitive either, and I don't find myself being "exited" from whatever I'm doing due to my thumb brushing across the mousepad while typing. I have a ballistics program on it and Photo Explosion (along with the normal Windows XP) and so far it has done everything I've asked of it. I've had it now for about a month, and no problems yet. Battery life is OK, not great but OK (approx two hours). Overall I'm very satisfied with it, and have recommended it to a friend.

I'm very pleased with my laptop. I thought the amount of RAM it came with would be a problem and I was planning to buy more, but I found there was no need. This thing really flies. Note that I use it mainly for work, so I'm using things like Word, Access, etc. No heavy graphics, online gaming, etc. I do wish the battery lasted longer (only ~ 3:00), but that's not such a big deal for me, especially for the price I paid. I find the touchpad aggravating (but that's common to most laptops), so I went ahead and bought a wireless mouse to use with my laptop, and I'm happy.

got this for my dad, he love it .My dad is learning how to use a computer at 76!!! this was the easy computer with all the bell and whistle.He love it and wow is it fast online so thank you overstock my high schooler kids want one and for the money i can get two.

This is the second computer we have purchased from Overstock.com., the first being a desktop HP model. The quality of that purchase prompted us to buy our laptop. The computer was delivered in two working days in good condition, and was exactly as described. All features work as designed. For the non-professional use that we bought it for, it fills the bill perfectly. The arrival condition of this laptop was excellent. Getting it started was a little tricky. Plus, it was a bit difficult to get a full version of Office installed. The trial software was a pain to work around - and I'm not a computer novice. Other than getting the laptop set up (which I'm still doing), it works great.

Just got thisis computer an hour ago,and love it already. It was easy to register. Took about 20 minutes,and was already surfing the web. I thought it would be a little newer,but it,s faster than my husbands dell that is a year old. I would recommend this product to everyone!!!

I don't know if they are all like this, but one of the most pleasant surprises was NO junk promotional software other than a 60-day trial version of Norton anti-virus. Go to the HP Business Support Center and you'll find tons of outstanding support documentation you can download for this laptop, such as a 246-page Hardware and Software Guide, a 237-page Maintenance and Service Guide, etc.

Before ordering the product, I reviewed your guide for purchasing laptops. It is exactly what I hoped it would be. I was fearful of a refurbished computer. The size of the screen is perfect. This laptop in particular, allows for all of the attachments that I need. It is very much like the pc that I also own.
