This printer has been a work horse in our office for a year now and it has been incredible!...It is fast and reliable...As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to get more of these!
Printer arrived packaged well in a plain brown box with form-fitted foam. I connected the printer to our network. I tried to print a test page through the printer menu, and the default was set to print duplex. The printer kept jamming in the duplexer right out of the box. So, this printer certainly was not refurbished well at all. I imagine this was the original problem and why it was sent back to HP for refurbishment, with duplexing problems, and it obviously was NOT FIXED. The duplexing model we received was an early 2005 model with over 101,000 pages printed. It was well used an had a lot of signs of wear. Overall, not a very good value. Fortunately, Overstock was great and took the printer back, postage pre-paid. They were out of stock of these, so we just ordered the non-duplexing model for less money which so far works great.
The printer was in good shape and had a low page count for a refurb. HP LaserJets have away done well for me over the years. I've been using HP LaserJets from the time they came to the market in the early 80's.
This is one of HP's great laserjet printers. The easy connection to network, 2-sided pages and the extra paper drawer are all needed. Only downsides were that the refurbished printer we bought had a miscellaneous rod floating around the interior of the machine and it was difficult to find the correct printer-driver to accommodate our needs.
We are a small business with a printing volume of around 7000 pages per month. We have a few hp LaserJet printers including a 4050tn, 4100dtn, 4600n and a very tired and worn out hp 5si. We typically buy used or refurbished printers and this time it was time to replace the 5si. We began our search for another hp printer with duplex capability and settled on the 4250dtn. Overstock had the printer in refurbished condition for $1000 less then the typical retail price. The term refurbished in this case meant the printer had been sold and returned without any use. The printer was delivered in new condition worked great right out of the box with a little configuring by our IT guy. The printer is a big improvement over the 5si and the only negative would be a slightly higher toner cost. This was our first Overstock purchase but it all went so well, that it will definitely not be our last
