I was disappointed that it didn't work with my old ipod video, but works perfectly with the new classic.
The product worked great. Still compatible with my older ipods. A great little gadget for recording.
This is a perfect way to record directly onto your IPOD and listen to lectures later. Most reviews on here have already given you the pros and cons of this piece. You are not going to record a high quality CD using this, but the sound quality is perfect for re-listening to lectures or recording study notes to listen to in the car or wherever on your IPOD. One drawback - you pick up every movement of your IPOD so just set it down and leave it alone until you're done. The "POP!" when you stop recording is also very prevalent on the recording. But that is minor compared to the ease of use and convenience. Just unpack it and plug it in, a Voice Notes screen pops up on your IPOD screen, hit the record button and that's it! Hit record again when you want to stop recording. You can record for about an hour and then your IPOD battery will be depleted. Perfect for class or a meeting/presentation.
This product is great and easy to use, but it only works with regular ipods. Not the nano or itouch, your ipod has to have atleast 30GB for it to really work right. However if you do have the right iPod then it is a great cheap way to receive audio.
The iMic was not compatable with my iPod and had to be returned.
just make sure your firmware is updated to use it, and be aware you then you may lose everything you have stored on your ipod.
Really nice, if you have a big capacity Ipod and you don`t have a lot off music inside, you can record whatever you want on it and listen over and over again, with a simple push of a button. Your favorite commercials, a sentence of a movie, everything is possible. Love it!
I use this to record students in lessons, or in class to post on the school's website. The sound quality is strikingly good. Well worth the money and easy to function.
I am a journalist and use this product to interview people for stories. This product has allowed me to pinpoint my quotes within the interview, interview several people at a time in a crowded space without worrying about feedback or background noise, and look incredibly professional while I'm doing it. It is an amazing switch from my old digital recorder and I'd recommend it to anyone. The only problem is that occasionally I have to plug it into my iPod twice to get the right menu to show up.
The microphone itself is amazing-- the quality is very high for such a tiny thing. My only reservation about the general experience was the fact that the item arrived with no instructions, packaging, or anything other than the molded plastic holder tray. How to use it was left completely for me to figure out. It doesn't require a rocket science degree, but shouldn't there at least be some instructions included?
I use the iTalk to make professional grade recordings for my podcast and voice-over demos, as well as record music rehearsals when I'm working as a singer. The quality is astounding for such a small device. No distortion, clear tone, easy use...actually much better than the studio microphone I paid over $100 for. The only minor drawback is it's easy to accidently nudge the iPod controls, and the iTalk stops recording without you realizing it. Also, the device is very small, and potentially easy to use. However, I store mine in one of those tin peppermint containers, which makes it much easier to keep track of.
