Installing this external soundcard was breeze. Just install the software, plugin, and you're ready to go. I'm very happy with my purchase as it was exactly what I was looking for. This soundcard has a "panoramic" feature that can take stereo audio and basically convert it to 5.1 surround sound audio. It does a very good job of differentiating sounds and selecting the right one to play in the rear speakers. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a simple way of getting 5.1 Surroundsound from a Mac.

Good product for those that still have an older Macbook that still has a Firewire port. I was looking for something that synched my 5.1 PC speakers to my laptop and this did the trick.The one thing I am disappointed is that it's inability to use all the speakers when playing regular music. It seems that music playing is on 2.1 sound without using the extra speakers.

The Griffin FireWave is the exactly the product I needed to connect my older 5.1 sound system to my new iMac. The product was easy to install and set up and works like a charm! It's sleek and looks great next to the clean lines of the iMac.NOTE- For 2009 iMac users- you will need to purchase a 400 to 800 cable or adapter for a 2009 iMac due to a different firewire connection on these new iMacs.This was the first time I'd ordered from Overstock. I was surprised how quickly the item came especially since I am in Canada. I've already purchased another item from Overstock and I'm very pleased with that item as well.
