Genius SP-HF2020 2.0 Speaker System - 60 W RMS - Black

I have been looking for a sound bar or external powered speakers for my 42 inch lcd TV. The TV is 5 years old and while they put out 10 watts the sound has no ummmmp to them. we have our tv on a stand, so a speaker bar would not work because it blocked the remote IR for the tv. I keep researching and came across these. On the internet, they are not rated very high. It seems some get good ones and some get bad ones,. However, I noticed that the manufactored had resonded to a couple of the reviews and aked them to call the customer service linef ro help. That encouraged me that this was a quality compnay, besides, overstock stands behind what they sell. The speakers are tall, but look great...very retro and very cool looking. The sound is great and you can really notice the differences in the eq settings. And, they are LOUD-60 watts total!!! Keep in mind these are under $$$ bucks so no there are not like my reciever with the Kilpsch speakers. But they do great for what i needed. I was looking hard at a nice set of computer 2.1 speakers (you get the subwofer) but they did not put out much more that 15 watts. I aslo did not want surround/theater sound as you have to have room to put all the speakers and such. this fitts perfectly with the TV

• How did the image on site compare with the actual product? not exactly as the image is wood, but the color they note is all black. I got all black
• Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? no problems so far
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. remote is very small, otherwise the speakers seem of high quality
