Customer Reviews
I was looking for an entry-level tablet that wouldn't set me back a lot. I've been very pleased with the MousePen 8x6, largely for its surface size. My Vista machine recognized the tablet right away before I installed any drivers. The tablet can be used out of the box this way, but installing the drivers also installed a Control Panel applet that allows for customization, including the hotspots around the edges. In some reviews I've read there have been complaints of dead spots; I've not encountered any. The only real downside to this tablet is the cheap-feeling plastic. Also a fair amount of pressure is needed to get a full brush in applications like Photoshop. While I like the pressure-sensitive pen tip, I'm a little worried the tablet surface may become scratched and marred. Also, I've admittedly not used the mouse as all I wanted was a pen tablet. Like I said, I bought this in order to familiarize myself with using a pen tablet. Any cons are outweighed by the fact that it's a fairly inexpensive piece of hardware. The extra $10 (over the cost of similar but smaller models) is definitely worth it for the extra surface space. I highly recommend this table for anyone like me looking to get started with this alternative method of computer input.
I'm really enjoying this product. It works great and is awesome to use with graphics software.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. It installed easily enough on his laptop, but is not compatible with Windows Vista, which we have on all the other pcs in the house. I tried to download an updated driver from the manufacturer's website and even that had problems. It's a little silly to have a wireless mouse that you have to use on the pad, in which case you can't easily switch between the mouse and pen. It takes some getting used to, the cursor moves to where the pen is: the tablet itself is like the computer screen...every point on the tablet corresponds to that spot on the screen. You can't pick up the pen and move to give yourself more room. The things you can do with it are neat though. Cropping and editing photos is easier and more precise, and you can edit documents and make handwritten notes, so it's good for a writer or teacher. My next purchase will probably be the same accessory from a more well-known brand.
