excellent
from New York,  Jan 16, 2012

Garmin nuvi 1300 was received brand new and in original package working perfectly and recommend people to buy products from this site, because what they advertise you get the product they don't hide that is if the product is refurbished it is clearly written"Refurbished". It is the choice of customer to buy or not. In fact they are true to their word, also their delivery charges are minimum and product received well ahead of time what they say to you. Price wise they are competitive.

Overall, the Garmin nüvi 1300LM Automobile Portable Navigator is an excellent GPS, suitable for both auto and pedestrian use. The screen is large and well lit, offering great visibility. The Garmin map rendering is visually appealing and intuitive. I've noticed this unit (which replaced my older model) appears to be choosing different, shorter routes to destinations. Adding to the value is the lifetime maps feature, which allows the user to download a utility which informs of newly available map updates. There are only two minor issues with the unit. First, if you veer from the established route (e.g., by accident), it can become a bit stuck, sputtering "recalculating" even when you get back on track. Simply turning the unit off and then on again will correct this if it happens. Second, the mechanical voice, which in truth, is annoying on all GPS systems, can be a bit irritating. Overall, a great value.

Not like my other Garmins
 from Phila,PA,  Nov 1, 2011

I wasn't crazy about this Garmin unit from the beginning b/c the english spoken sounded like a foreign language ie., 'left' sounded like 'lift'. However, I still used it ( less then 10 times) when it started reloading continually and never stopped while I was driving to a destination. I have had two previous Garmin units that were simpler and think I will stick to that type in the future.

This GPS is an easy to use, reliable product. Garmin also has frequent updates, so the product maps are accurate. It is a great value for the money.
