Good option Thanks to Garmin for coming up with this feature, as i was worried about the outdated map in my GPS unit and not willing to spent hefty price every time i upgrade maps. This life time maps with one time purchase is great, if you think your GPS will survive for at least two updates, you would get your money back.

Garmin Lifetime Maps Great product and is cheaper to purchase the lifetime than two (2) updates. The product is only valid (per Garmin) for one GPS receiver; therefore, if the GPS is replaced or lost the lifetime updates end. Shipping from Overstock was fast, and I will purchase from them again.

Garmin Map Updates Had to call Garmin to get it installed. Very large file that is downloaded to your PC. Purchased due to area had many roads not in the Garmin I purchased in May 2009. I do not see any change in the maps so far. Not sure it was worth it.
