Easy to use I bought this for my 17 yr old. within minutes she knew how to use it. The best part it it says the road name where you have to turn so she can keep her eye on the road. I looked at many other models at stores I couldnt find anything with these features for under $350.00 Consumers also rates Garmin as the most reliable.

With the myriad choices of GPS units out there, I found it difficult to choose. I picked this one for the MSN Direct Service. I think the overall ease of use and quality of the product is good, but I'm a bit disappointed with the MSN service. I live in Atlanta, where I thought the traffic updates would be helpful. Unfortunately, I have found the information to be inaccurate much of the time. Additionally, the gas price feature is okay, but it doesn't seem to work very well when I am traveling. With that said, I do like this unit, and I would recommend it.

I bought the Garmin 580 a month ago and I love it. I was moving to a new city and I was concerned about getting lost. I tested it out before I moved, by intentionally going the wrong way intentionally, and the GPS always put me back on to the path every time. It's easy to use, no complaints. I highly recommend it for people like me who have no sense of direction, or if you have no idea how to read a map, this is the product for you. ;-)=^,,^=att

Very easy to use. Convenient to put in any car. I didn't use the permanent mounting bracket but it stays put in three different cars. It has some bells and whistles that you may or may not use. Directions are almost always "spot on". This thing has saved me hours of drive time, getting lost time and gas money.

I love it always gets me where I need to go my husband took off the frame and painted it to match the car, it looks so good and works really goof ery easy to use

This was a great purchase, and the price was awesome! Only problem is i feel the blue tooth volume could be higher. BUT...the blue tooth is an added bonus!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great GPS, it's easy and cool. I found that it sometimes will take me a long way, more of the scenic route, however if you go somewhere the easier way it will just recalculate and take you there from your own directions. Great price, great purchase.

Have purchased three units, one for my personal use and two for gifts. I was so satisfied with the one I bought for personal use that I decided this would make a wonderful gift. The gift receivers are very pleased with their Garmins. I definitely would recommend this product to anyone looking for a GPS navigation system.

The primary purposes for purchasing this unit were to have real time traffic updates and use the bluetooth connectivity for hands free phone usage. Pros: The unit performs very well and is easy to use for navigation. The maps are up-to-date. We like the text to speech turn-by-turn feature, but the female voice is grating. Cons: MSN Direct is out of date compared to my Verizon VZ Navigator. Traffic updates are lagging, and local POI's are not up-to-date. I've heard that the non-MSN real-time traffic options are more useful in most cities. Bluetooth phone quality is poor. The speaker voices are garbled and voice quality at the other end is almost unintelligable. I plan to try an external microphone to fix the problem. I have read that this is a widespread problem with most navigation units. Summary: Great navigation unit full of features, but for real-time traffic and useful bluetooth look elsewhere.

This is a really awesome piece of equipment! I would recommend it to anyone who travels anywhere!

Received this unit, read the instructions, hooked to my computer and downloaded the updated maps(FREE) and started using it. It is a really easy unit to use. If you are looking for a jam packed auto GPS unit that is really easy to use then this is the one. And the customer service at Overstock.com is the best I have had to deal with, a really professional staff.Screen auto dims at night, you can select different voices or no voices, a clear clean screen and in time warning about turns and recalulates routes quickly, OUTSTANDING unit. The price can't be beat either........

We replaced a Garmin Nuvi 370 I believe with this unit. We have really enjoyed the incorporated bluetooth capabilities and the online references. This is a great GPS and would recommend it to others.

bought this as a gift. Price was absolutely great! We have one already and love it. Easy to use and has helped us on many a trip . When on trips great for getting off highway and finding eating places and back on to highway easily. Would recommend highly.

This GPS does more then I ever imagend. The features are easy to navigate and the touch screen is not overlly sensitive. Three days after reciving it, I was ordering one for my mom. I did a lot of research before buying and I have talked to a lot of friends since, I have yet to find anyone who has as many features or who is as happy with there GPS as I am.

Sent this to my son as a gift, after he had been home and used my garmin c550. Thie 580 did not pick up some major streets in the city he lives in. I am returning this model and will be buying another model. Garmin has the highest rating according to Consumer reports.

Asking me to evaluate a Garmin product is unfair. I have had Garmin products since the late '80's. Currently I have 4 GPS units, for the road - (1) Garmin Street Pilot III (1) Garmin Street Pilot C550 and (2) Garmin Street Piolt C580. I have three boats from a 18" flats boat to a 33' Bertram. They all have Garmin GPS Chartplotters and Fishfinders/Depth Sounders and the Bertram also has Radar, and soon to have Autopilot. Needless to say I am part of the Garmin Family. The products are easy to use and extremely reliable. Over the years I have had a few minor problems with their products and all I can say is that their Customer Service Department is the BEST I have ever encountered. The Service personal are courtious, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to help/assist you. If you call them with a question on installation or how to use a feature on a product they will spend the whole day with you, if need be, to make sure you understand what to do and are 100% satisfied. To sum Garmin up they have an excellant product with a fantastic Customer Service (Tech Help) Department.

So glad I made this purchase! No more getting lost. Unit works great and is very easy to operate. I also love the hands free bluetooth feature. Audio is pretty good, better than a different hands free unit I had separately. Love that I don't have to have two separate units in my car. Very easy to mount on the windshield and stays in place. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Being somewhat technology challenged I found this to be very easy to use. It is amazingly accurate. I won't get lost again. I did recommend it to 2 other friends right after the first road trip.
