After doing some research, I decided to buy my husband a Garmin Nuvi 255. He was very pleased, and even more so, after using it on a number of occasions. It is easy to hear and understand the voice command directions. And when you view the screen, it is very easy to see where you are on the map. Also, rather than be told to make a turn in 500 ft, we like that it announces the street names. And if you miss a turn or decide to make a stop somewhere along the way, it quickly recalculates your route. I am completely satisfed with my purchase. It really helps save time (and gas) when trying to find a specific location.

Wanted something to get us around , without having to mapquest everything. And without spending a ton on money. The nuvi 255 fit the bill. Worked right out of the box. The only complaint is that it had our home adress wrong, but not far off. No big deal. It says the street name clearly. So far so good . Overstock was great. recieved the unit on time and customer service on line was very helpful

although my garmin nuvi255w didnt come from overstock,i would recomend it very highky.the use of it is very easy to do.i have noticed 1 time it told me to turn left instead of right,but,it still got me to where i was going.i have used tom tom,cobra and others,and hands down,garmin is the best.i do suggest spending atleast 250.00 or more and get the biggest screen possible as it makes it easier to see going down the road.also,alot of gps`s dont come with a windshield mount.you have to buy.mine came with the windshield suction cup as well as a way to mount on the dash.very good product.

wehad a lesser Garmin in our other car so ordered one that also gives street names and i do like it better ..was worth the extra costs to me.

The features are great. The trip mileage breakdown is valuable. I do not think the routes given are the best. I used it for known destinations and was given a less direct route. It may have been due to my programming for fuel economy. It is good for those who are adept in using the computer to add the extra features. I would only recommend it to those who are willing to go the extra mile to obtain the best results.

My new GPS is wonderful. I used it over the weekend for a trip I had taken many times before just to test its accuracy It actually directed me to a shortcut that I was unaware of and saved me at least thirty minutes. The map feature allowed me to quickly check if I was on course. The audio directions are well timed to allow the user time to make the directed turns. When I opted for a slightly different route on the way home the directions quickly adapted to my new route. It also serves as a good reference by identifying restaurants and other points of interest. Great product at the lowest price around!

I recently retired and plan to travel. My Garmin will accompany me on all trips. Very easy to use and the instructions are on the spot. This model has just enough information for a beginner like me.

My wife purchased this for me for Christmas. I didn't think it would work accurately or be something I needed driving all day for my business. Wow...I was wrong! I do not need my maps to navigate to my destinations for my business and am so impressed with how accurate it is. I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend it.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter who gets lost in her driveway. She has called me several times with great excitement after getting to a destination with out making any wrong turns. She says Nuvi is her new best friend. Be sure to not buy cheaper models if you want turn by turn voice commands. If you have trouble reading maps while you drive or have a poor sense of direction, this is liberating.
