NO GPS SOFTWARE INCLUDED

This is HARDWARE ONLY. NO GPS SOFTWARE is included, although the information lists compatibility with Laptops, Pocket PCs, Palm PDAs and Smartphones. They're *compatible* IF you already have GPS software installed on them. I called Garmin for clarification, and to purchase the GPS software for my Palm, I'd need to spend another one hundred dollars. Also, the Palm software comes on a copy-protected SD card, which makes the investment even less desirable. Losing the card, or the likely occurrence of data corruption, without a back-up, would be a bummer ...
