so i needed a new computer but i didnt want to spend to much money... my budet was less then 500! so i found this computer and i got it very fast! easy to set up! keyboard and mouse r not very good but they were in the package so i cant complain! the only thing is that it doesnt have a dvd cd rom drive so i have to go and get one! its goin to run me like 60-80 bucks! and another thing is it doesnt have any of the microsoft programs like excel or word.. so i had to find another program to use to open my files! but over all its a great computer!
we are using this computer to network in the house with a laptop. the features of desktop make it perfect and the p4 processor is more then adequate.

I was looking for an inexpensive back up machine for the home network, mainly for web browsing and home office applications. Because I already had a monitor, this was a perfect fit. The Dell worked nearly flawlessly out of the box. Of course, you have to update Windows and add additional software which takes time, but was a nice trade for the purchase price. I did have a video driver issue, but that was solved by installing the latest drivers from the Dell site. I also bumped up the RAM, which added about $30 to the price. I am very happy with the purchase. If you have a bit of knowledge about software and driver installation, you should be just fine.

Bought this computer for my husband to replace his older one. He's not very tech-savvy so I hoped it would be easy to use as well as fast. It is fast and seems to be very intuitive. He got it not very long after Christmas and hasn't needed much of my IT help since the first day. (Bought the extended warranty. For me, that usually guarantees Nothing will go wrong. But if it does, I'm covered.) I've never bought Dell before. We usually have our computers built for us but this was a deal I couldn't pass up from Overstock. We've bought many varied items from them. Always at a good price and usually something we wound up using a lot. Now, the downside. The "WIFI Ready" means a DSL port. It's advertised as a "slim tower" but the CD Rom door has difficulty opening when it's in an upright position. I laid it down to load CDs. It's a small thing to me but someone else might consider it important. We don't have room to keep it laid down. That's why I gave it only 4 stars for features. Remember to plan on spending time to update the OS online. (This has Windows XP which I wanted). It also took time to load our software but all that is to be expected. We saved more money since I did all the updating, loading programs, etc. (The Labor cost is $85 for our local guys to install and update an OS). Bottom line. Hubby's delighted with it. We received it in a few days. The mouse and keyboard that came with it worked fine. I cleaned the hard drive in his old one and it will go to the basement where our grandchildren will use it. So, it's a win-win situation! If I had it to do again...I would buy it!
