If you think you don't need one of these, you'll be amazed and how neat and helpful it really is. Very simple to use, easy to read/see, voices are clear and understandable. I have been using this on everyday places I go to get used to when to swich lanes, exit, and such ....this could not be more accurate. I know I will be very comfortable using it on vacation and going new places. TomTom XL 340 4.3-inch Portable GPS Navigator with Bonus Kit is by far the best deal.

This is the first GPS navigator I ever purchased and I am very happy with it so far. The 7" screen may be large for some folks but it works very for me. It allows plenty of detail to be shown on the screen and identifies things like gas stations, hotels, eateries, banks and such on the route that you are taking. I like the ability of the device to give you advance instructions before you reach a turn or intersection with a friendly sounding voice. It's almost like having a friend give you direction advice in advance. It also identifies in a portion of the screen where you should position your vehicle for an exit or where there are multiple intersections in one area along your route. However, I have also noted that at times the GPS seems to get confused I am assuming that happens with all GPS navigators. You know, plug in a destination for a store and you end up in front of a residence. It does makes up for that with the traffic alert feature that seems to work really well, but that only works in areas that transmit the information. Also with life time map and traffic updates that are included in the price it makes this GPS worth it. It also has voice commands that you can use which are great, but it does take a while to get the hang of it. Bottom line is I think this is a high quality gadget that stands up to its marketing promises.

Excellent Product! Very easy to learn how to use. The bonus kit is a wonderful side product, and very handy. The GPS itself is extremely beginner friendly, which was nice as I am new to using one. It gave detailed step by step instructions on setting it up and using it. As far as Overstock.com goes, we were extremely pleased with the quality of service. Very informative throughout the whole shipment process, and the product was delivered to us quickly. We will definitely be buying again soon, and we would recommend your website to anyone. Thank you!

This is a great and handy (handsfree) GPS receiver. Pros: small, light, accurate, easy to upload and download data, will display up to 2 position formats at one time including Lat/Lon, UTM, GMRS..., Cons: resolution a bit low, strap (limited adjustability) see below. Notes: not a mapping or 'turn by turn' navigator, but it is not supposed to be. Will display tracks, straight line distance to destination, bearing to destination... everything you'd expect from a basic GPSr. Review: This is a great field GPSr. As a background I own a Magellan Meridian Gold and a Garmin Etrex Legend HCx and have used both extensively. I've been using the Foretrex 301 for about six weeks now. I've usually used it for my running to track time, distance and speed. Also for trail hiking, cycling and basic navigation. For basic navigation (ie inputting waypoints) it is best to use the Mapsource software. You can input waypoints and routes as well as extract tracks from the 301 using Mapsource. I've found it to be as accurate as my HCx but smaller and much lighter. It doesn't do everything that the HCx does, but it was not designed to do so. The screen is small, but that is necessary due to the overall size of the device and so is expected. Also, due to the 'uses' and design (better power consumption), color dispay is not necessary. Resolution could be slightly better, but again for a simple device it works. A price of xxxxx is very fair for this device. I don't think I would have paid the retail price when it first was introduced (~$200 I think). I considered the 401, but did not feel the features necessary, so saved my money. The only con is the wrist strap. With the basic wrist strap, it just fits my wrist just right, but if your wrist is anywhere above average, it may be too tight. The unit comes with a wrist strap extender, but when I tried it, it made the wrist strap way too large for most anyone I know. It would be better if it had slightly more adjustment range. However, it is sturdy, seems secure so far (hook and loop) and comfortable for my wrist. Definitely recommended if you need a basic GPS As a side note, if you some pictures of soldiers in Afghanistan or Iraq, sometimes you will see them with a Foretrex on their wrist or gear.

This is a really good navigator. It is more sensitive than the older models. It used to take almost a mile of driving to locate the satellite, but his newer version picks it up as soon as I pull out of the garage. It also displays the daytime maps in brighter colors.

7 Purchased for Commercial Application. 6 months into constatnt service and each unit is functioning well. This is a good choice in Tom Tom GPS, this model with the larger screen seems to be more desireable with employees. We have over 150 Tom Toms in use. In my opinion the only brand to consider. (And we have tried them all)

I have had a Garmin for years and it finally gave out so I bought this Garmin and I love it. It has a voice command that you can set up and just talk and tell it where you want to go. Its so great. I don't know what I did before these came, but I'm so happy they are here! I got lost a lot I know that! But not any more. I wouldn't be without one and garmin is really the best in my opinion. Thankyou

I have owned several GPS's, and by far this the Best I have owned so far. The very large screen allows viewing even when mounted on the passenger side of the rear view miiror. The inter change view has been a real bebefit for exiting on multilane interstates to either exit or follow another highway interchange. I do miss the sound alerts with the last Garmin I owned, alerting me to the turns needed at that exact point. Though if I'm paying attention it verbally guides me thru them without much hazzle.

the voice on this unit was clear and directions were on the money. loved using it to find place to eat and sites to visit. also, if you missed your turn, it doesn't say re-calculating. it would say make a U-turn if possible and give new directions to get you back to where you needed to be. loved it
