damros from Dallas, Texas, Rating:3.0I purchased the UTM-5, then purchased one year of updates/antivirus/support separately. I wish I had just gone with the UTM-50 off the bat. The UTM-5 is not capable of anything over 5-6mbit down when you have anything other than the firewall turned on. I have a 30x3 connection and it dropped my download speed from 30mbps to about 5mbps. I had the proxy and IPS on, I tried several combinations of configurations and enabled/disabled settings, but nothing would help it other than completely disabling the IPS, Proxy and AV scanning. If you have a single ADSL connection from AT&T or Verizon, etc. in a residential setting (6mbit/1mbit), this may work, but anything like a good cable modem connection or FIOS and this will kill your connection. Support is non-existant they depend on user forums to support the devices, there are some knowledgeable users, but I want support when I pay this much for a device...from the company I bought it from.

reed101 from Alberta, CANADA, Rating:4.0Well, the firewall arrived in a couple weeks (I'm in Canada) like the shipper said it would. One thing to not about purchasing the product is that it does NOT come with any support packages. Once registered on mySonicWall, I purchased a 3 year hardware and software/firmware support package for @ $650. Even with this additional expense, it was still under the quoted prices for SonicWall re-sellers & online stores (I got quotes from $2600-$3400 for this unit!). Since I've owned a SonicWall product (2040pro), I knew what I wanted for a future one. I looked at Juniper, Cisco and a couple others and decided to get the NSA2400. I'm very happy with the product and how it is performing, Like my 2040pro, I can see my NSA2400 doing the job for 5+ years.
