Inexpensive VCR. I was frantic when a Zenith VCR knocked off on me after 14 years. It's impossible to buy a basic VCR in stores and stumbling onto this website and the whole "Refurbished" deal was new to me. I bought three. Other than a light buzz on recording playback.....simply taping TV shows and playblack is appreciated. The remote works and the instructions for timer recording, ect, are easy to use once the manual is read. If you're not ready for or not a heavy TV watcher for the digital and DVR phase in electronics. This is a great purchase.

We had problems to begin with, but discovered the tape we were using was the problem. Now the VCR is working fine and it meets our needs at a price we could afford to pay.

This is a good refurbished VCR. It has a tuner so you can record your tv shows if you don't own a DVR. It was a good value for the money.

I still like recording tv programs on videotape. When my last VCR went out recently we had a really tough time finding another VCR. I was so happy that Overstock had one. Works very easliy and I am happy with it!

I purchased this vcr for may aunts . They are not getting a clear picture on it , it is skipping. Also it has gotten tapes stuck in it.

The product works real good on standard play. The screen rolls on Super Long Play. It is a good vcr for the cost.

I purchased this recorder to transfer my home movies to DVD and so far after about ten hours of continuos use there have been no problems. The recorder came with a remote and batteries and an instruction manual. For a refurbished unit it looked brand new. All of the functions work perfectly and I may buy another one just to have because you cannot buy a VCR anywhere these days, you can't even find a video player. The reason I did not buy a combo unit was that I already had a good working VCR and didn't need another one or so I thought. It lasted only two hours befor it stopped working.

This unit works very well and does exactly what we wanted it to do.....record programs while we are watching others. It is difficult to find a VCR with a built in tuner now ...and if you can actually find one, the price is substantially higher. We're happy with this purchase; it's a great value (considering buying another and stashing it away for the future!)....Even arrived ahead of schedule! Thanks once again, Overstock!

The video was just fine. However, there is an aggravating audio that accompanies it. I don't recommend purchasing this VCR, because you won't be able to get past that annoying sound!!! I just received it today, April 8, 2009; and I returned it today, because the annoying audio never goes away!!!

I did buy one & plan to buy another one.It works great & I thought it to be fairly easy to hook up.I would've prefered a regular instruction book,but at least was sent a copy of the instructions & when I had a question I just called & was helped promptly.It plays back a nice clear picture & I was able to set up the programs that I wanted to record regularly.It is getting harder to find just a VCR & one with a digital tuner.I definately would recomend this.This was the first time buy for me from Overstock.com & they were very prompt with the order & I especially appreciated the fact that there is someone right there to chat with you about what your looking for,very curtious & helpful.Great customer service on line & by phone.

This would be much better if it had a clock. also a tape usage on the front with the clock.

Purchased VCR thinking I was receiving a product that was of good quality. VCR Will not play tapes. Machine just turns off when you press play. This is no good buy.. My advise is to leave this alone.

I should have listened tgo the reviews.This thing is a piece of junk.Mostly the audio is awful, it has a background buzz, volume varies up and down, pic isn't too bad but I can only record on standard play two hours. if I try slp it is all messed up and unwatchable.the good news is Overstock has agreed to replace it, no hassle. I'm impressed with their exchange policy.we shall see if the new one works.

This "refurbished" VCR never worked. We couldn't insert a cassette at all. Apparently, the mechanism that pulls the cassette into the machine was broken. Not a good job of refurbishing, I'd say. Unfortunately, I inadvertently let the 30-day return period lapse so I couldn't return it.

I received the vcr a few days after ordering, set it up and I have had no problems with it. Great buy for the money.

got it would not record, would skip jump and would not track, even though refurbished it still should have done better than this.
