All I wanted was something that would hold 25 - 30 of my favorite songs, which would last the two hours commute time. And I wasn't about to put out 15 hours of my gross pay to do it. This took 44 songs and still has plenty of room for more.
I am REALLY pleased with this unit. At $50 this is a real value, considering all the features. I appreciate the FM radio (and the ability to record off it!), as well as recording voice and the line input! I have XP on my home PC, and connecting to download music files is a breeze: plug the USB cable into the player, then the PC's USB port. With a simple "ding!" you have a window come up, ready to drop music into. When done, simply unplug. "ding", and the window closes. No laborious disconnect sequences, as with USB thumb drives. And, no cradle, no batteries to handle...the USB port is the charger!
The downside: none of the (numerous) controls are labeled on the front, where the display is. I am getting use to the controls (I've only had this two hours). With enough practice I'm sure the important controls will be memorized shortly. But, I think this may explain why this unit "failed to take off". I do like the iPod controls, but !OW! the price...
In closing, DON'T HESITATE, get this NOW!
