Bought two of them and neither one worked. The tapes wouldn't load. You could see that the tapes went in crooked.

This is a no-frills VHS recorder. It suit my needs for a backup player for my remaining video tapes.

The VCR was refurbished and not of good quality. I needed a vcr and this was the only one I could find.

I've had no problems with this refurbished vcr. The remote is easy to use & the tracking adjustment works well. The picture quality is very good. Although it's not stereo, the sound is good.

This is a poor VCR. When I tape a show on my TV and later watch the show the picture jumps around and is not worth to watch the show. Sorry I ever bought this Vcr , Do not buy.

I give this item 5 stars because it does exactly what I want and does it well. Very easy to use if you are at all familiar with VCR's. I'm grateful that Overstock is selling VCR's. There isn't one available in the retail stores!

I am jeaolous of those purchasers who got good machines! I need a VCR with a tuner, and bought other combos (with DVD) that are OK. I still needed a separate VCR and bought this one with the extra warranty. I didn't need it. In 5 minutes I found a major flaw that should have been caught by the quality inspector. The recording quality was horrible and it was instantly obvious. The return was easy enough, so I tried a replacement, same model. It too was quickly found to be flawed. Buttons on the remote began to signal the wrong function (e.g. hitting stop to the playback would cause it to turn off, and hitting on again would cause the tape to eject).Then the picture quality to the second one turned bad very quickly when the tapes would jump and flicker regardless of the brand or recording of the tape used. Both of these machines were found to be defective very quickly, so it seems the quality control for refurbished machins is very good. Both machines were worthless to me.

It is a great value for the money, easy to use and shows a crystal clear picture with playback. And since VCRs are not that easy to find any more, I feel very fortunate to have found a really great one like this. I would unhesitatingly buy another like it should the need arise.

It is hard to find a VCR especially one that still records. I purchased 2 VCR's just to make sure I never run out of the item. I am very pleased it works great and in excellent condition. Will continue to shop on this web site.

Great picture and sound quallity. The only thing is, the remote controls don't work. I ordered two. Neither remote worked, so I bought 2 cheap Universal remote controls and all is well. If you don't have HD or are not hooked up to a cable box, you cannot find a plain VCR recorder any more. So if you need one, this is the place to get one. I was thrilled to be able to find them.

My local libraries are clearing out all their VHS tapes. I purchased quite a number of them and did not have a decent VCR player. I shopped in my area for a VCR player only, I could not find one. This Emerson VCR is just the right fit for me. It was easy to set up and use. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this VCR.

This VCR is not what I expected it is all plastic, and very hard to program, it does work and I guess thats all can be expected from a Vcr.

The rewind function stopped working after one usage. I had to put the tape into a different VCR to rewind it so that I could view what I had taped. It was frustrating. The unit was easy to use, the video quality was good, but when you can't rewind your tapes, it makes the unit pretty useless.

I bought this vcr as replacement for my old one(which died) Looking for something easy to use in my rec room as a second vcr. This did the trick, great value good picture and looks like new...although it is a bit noisy its fine for what I want.

This is my first purchase from Overstocks and I was very pleased with the VCR. It's exactly what I wanted. It is an old fashioned VCR that you cannot find in stores anymore. It is like new and works great. I will order from Overstaocks again.

I was able to program the VCR with my TV and schedule recordings at different times and different dates. However, to test how this machine worked, when recording, it made a loud whirring sound that interferred with listing to the TV. I returned this product and declined trying another unit.

Couldn't find a VCR Recorder in any store so I bought 2 since I'd had this one before. Unfortunately both of them have been defective. Apparently they are not REALLY refurbished (repaired). Sent one back to manufacturer for a refund (they no longer send you a replacement); now the other one is bad and I'll have to go through the hassle of returning it too.

very simple to use--been using two units for about a month-- purchased total of 3 units-- I don't have to upgrade TV and pay extra for boxes.
